gtx970 at 1545/8000 gets 80% gpu usage in the first room at 4K. at 1080p you will get easy 60 gps very likely.
will report more on performance when I start playing shortly.

Nah,I just sold it. It wasn't enough even for 1080p (all maxed out) anymore for quite a few games. Now I'm waiting for sapphire tri-x fury to get delivered within 2-3 (I hope) days .
I wanted to support poor (shrinking market share, 2.2 billions debt) AMD in their hour of need  but I didn't want to pay for fury x (and I don't like having water inside my case), so I ordered sapphire tri-x fury. I'll try to unlock it to a full fury x lol.. And in summer 2016 I'll get either nvidia's top-end gpu or amd's , I'll take the one that will have a better performance.

I haven't progressed far. Actually I just got to the "brain scan" doctor;) Maybe it gets significantly worse later or in particular situations.

in game vsync is total crap. I started getting weird fps drops just standing in place.
disabled in game, forced vsync + triplebuffering with inspector, and its much better.
3x DSR and so far constat 60 fps for me. 4x was a bit too much. just got past the intro scenes, the game is intense

Basic screen-space ambient occlusion I suspect, can't control the amount of samples any more but in the config file the quality setting is "2" whereas "0" would be the highest quality so you could try to adjust that and see if it helps.
(Same can be done for DOF and shadows as well - the in-game shadow quality setting instead controls a separate resolution variable - but the end result might not be all that different, it's a aging engine even if it's now converted to 64-bit.)

It's more about tension so far, few encounters but there's other events like the usual sound and visual effects to keep you on your toes.
I think they attempted something a bit different from Amnesia this time, not just the same game in a different setting so there's been some changes, more focus on story for one example.

anyone cracked teh PW for teh _supersecret.rar yet?
i was trying for 2 hours now with no luck.. Brutforce attack seems to be the only option now.. this could take a looong time, lol.
im not even shure this is an actuall rar archive??
or is it normal that it says "0" when its PW protected???

Oooooooooor you could play the game and collect the clues or whatever. I'm sure they didn't intend you to guess or crack it but to unlock it by figuring it out.

right, i didnt start the game yet, haha.
im the kind of guy allways checks teh files, ini´s and such , and mods or edits settings before i play..
i would allmost say, i have more fun editing and modding then actually playing the games..
but yes, if u say i can collect "hints" ingame, then you are of course right, and i shall start the game..

Game is awesome, runs also 50-60fps with DSR @ 5120x2160. Graphics are not that great, but everything else is top notch.

ahh, yeah that sounds plausible...
And ugh, youre right, Dat SSAO!?!?!
totally Fugly..
But teh rest looks amazing for this engine..
also the sound is very nice and it runs superb.. steady 60 fps...
Mouse controll is also good (without smoothing that is).
even with fxaa theres still some ugly edges here and there, but "ReShade" works, so im gonna try this (smaa) now..

well can't get more than 60fps to work properly
LimitFPS="false" allows higher framerates @75hz but everything stutters then, even back at 60hz
its only smooth with LimitFPS="true" at 60hz with v-sync

Ok, this thing is driving me insane: every time you get hit/caught by an enemy the game goes into "hurt mode", ie: blurry vision and chromatic aberration bullshit to the max. Now this would be fine if it was temporary... but I've been playing for half an hour now after being hit and the effect doesn't go away! The only way is to get hit again so you die completely and you restart from checkpoint.
Am I to stupid to figure out how to "heal" myself or did I find some strange bug? Are you guys also experiencing this?

There are many healing points in the game. They are squishy things that the character sticks their hand in and heals. The first one is quite hard to miss, it's just after you upgrade your omnitool in the beginning of the game and open a door with it.
