This season drags. I don't know how but they managed to tell less of the story than in season one. Watching it was a guilty pleasure in previous season, some nice camp series but now it lost almost all its redemptive qualities.
Also I hate entertainment logic - Palmer could easily killed off Eph but exposition won.

With each new episode I find myself fast forwarding more often. Sad

Quoting myself because today I broke a new record in fast forwarding, an amazing 2/3rds of the episode were skipped due to cringe inducing material.

Can't wait for next week's episode. Laughing

Quote:
The Strain hasn't been good all season, but these latest episodes heading into the finale have been absolutely awful. It's scampering to make its characters feel more real by focusing on their relationships with each other, but when there's a vampire apocalypse going on right outside the front door, maybe it's better to focus on that? The season finale is next week, and there's pretty much nothing to look forward to.

I know that feeling Yondy..I'm also officially done, and still can't wrap my head around the fact that they managed to screw up such a potentially cool concept so much. Not a single good decision/choice was made, it went from B-movie-like show to accidental parody of itself, which is an achievement in its own way if you're into sadomasochism. Razz Laughing

Season 2 stinks of someone, somewhere making a decision that they need soccer moms to watch this. First season had some dynamic, this season has none. They forced all the character backgrounds in this season to fill and drag it. While only one was somehow meaningful - Abrahams. Eichorst's was interesting but really didn't bring anything to the story.
And last episodes Eph's and Nora's story was just a fucking filler. They could just summarise it in two sentences.
The thing is there is almost no progression in comparison to first season, no sense of dread. Previously the characters were fighting for their lives, there was suspense and the feeling of impending doom. Now they only sit and moan about how they hurt each other feelings. And the old guy dip his floppy dick into young pussy.
Vampocalypse, what vampocalypse? It's like the vamps from S1 whom each night infected more and more people suddenly vanished into thin air.
Meh...

Yondaime got it right.
The opening first episode was good, enough to make me want to watch the rest, but mid season it was already dragging, add to force myself to the end
Did not watch the second season.
Legends of the Galactic Empire (on ep 96!) is keeping me busy during the no good series gaps

Yeah. For every enjoyable thing or scene there are two you just have to learn to ignore. It had the potential to become a somewhat good guilty pleasure type of a show if they moved it in the right direction in S2. Alas, they did not, actually focusing on the bad stuff instead. The only thing I can say with certainty I like in S2 are some of the flashbacks into the past. Eichorst's background was enjoyable, for example, some other stuff like that too.

I won't bother watching the third season... It's a shame..the first season was quite entertaining, a real guilty pleasure despite its obvious faults...
