Got a question.
My girlfriend installed Win10 a few days ago but its in English.
She wants in Swedish and we try to change the language but it refuses to install Swedish.
It says its already Swedish but everything is in English.
Any ideas on how to change everything to Swedish.
She upgraded from Swedish Win8.1.

Dunno if it has been talked before but there's an official way to make those DRM / SafeDisc games to work normally without the need of cracks.
From a spanish article (NO SOURCE from nowhere else or something) http://hardzone.es/2015/09/28/microsoft-desactiva-drm-securom-safedisc-en-windows-10/
Do a Regedit -> search for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\secdrv -> right click on Start then Modify -> Change Value to 2
Now all those games should work as they should without the need to rely on cracks etc...
Could somebody test it out with Ubisoft's XIII (FPS) or any other game that uses that?

Yeah, since the 3-4 CD version for any W7-W10? makes the installer go nuts and revert back to 0% with an error.
Thanks, lemme know if it works, please, though without this being changed i've heard that it gives some weird error (EVEN THOUGH GOG said they're on it to make GOG games to work on W10)

In the control panel; Control Panel\Clock, Language, and Region\Language, do you see Swedish on the list of languages and is it at the top?
Take a look at this:

I assumed DV2 meant GOG used a not fully cracked or badly cracked executable that has problems in Win10.
In any case I installed the game and indeed it can't boot up, I get the message "UD3DRenderDevice::ReadPixels <- UD3DRenderDevice::Present" but this is obviously graphics related not copy protection related.
Indeed in the GOG forum it is said the problem is resolved by running the game windowed or by disampling "ReduceMouseLag" ( probably a problem that stems from the changes Windows 8 introduced with the mouse in games: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2908279 ).

So problem solved.
edit Indeed, I tested it and horrendous mouse lag aside (cause by turning off ReduceMouseLag or because Windows8/10 fucked up the mouse?) the game launches fine after that.

GOG doesnt use "cracked" versions. They use "clean" executables which they get from the devs (though afaik there were a few games which indeed used cracks, but ofc with permission of the dev cause there wasnt a chance to get clean files)

Which means they were liable because US law states that you cannot use any software that circumvents digital rights management, "with permission" or otherwise. |

XIII was removed by Ubisoft from GOG because of license issues (because it's based on a comic book and they have to pay to renew the license, same as some Spider-Man games etc had to be removed at some point by Activision from Steam etc). It's very likely it will never return (why pay for something that today is very little known?).
And this is a proper fix. The laggy mouse I noticed after I managed to boot it up apparently is only (this bad) in the menu and it was always (or it has been for some time) like that from what I read. Also this is a widespread UE2 problem, not a XIII specific problem.
Finally it's not likely GOG will look into a fix (even if that can be as easy as implementing the ReduceMouseLag ini tweak) as they no longer sell the game. They haven't even updated the installer to the 2.0 version like they have done for every other game they sell.
tl;dr it's a widespread UE2 problem, it takes 3 seconds to fix it yourself, do it and don't expect GOG to do it for you.

just get the language pack you need from mydigitallife forums
or you may do a clean install, language pack installation is possible via settings. it seem just borked with the upgrade installation

Make sure she has all updates applied and she is running that system as admin. Here is something else for you to look over:

Anyone experiencing a weird choppiness issue on Win10?
For example, if I open some apps which run on small windows (game launchers for example) my mouse gets extremely choppy, if I have this window selected (if I click on the desktop everything starts working normal, also I've checked the cpu usage etc, and they're not changed, so it's not really going crazy due to some memory leaks etc).
And similarly, if I play a game in windowed fullscreen on the main screen 2560 x 1440@144hz and on the second screen (1980x1200 @ 60hz) I have firefox with netflix running (no other open tabs) the video gets occasionally very choppy.
I've noticed this only since I've started using Win10, and even then I only saw this... suddenly (probably some driver change or something)
Anyway, anyone else having these issues?

try newer or older gfx drivers... maybe the 980 has problems with multimonitor setups with different resolutions and refresh rate. woudlnt be suprised if thats the case. nvidia gpus are known to have problems with such constellations (as example -> the gpu always worked in 3d mode with full clockspeed if two displays with different resolutions were connected. they fixed that problem with the 700er series)
multidisplay performance mode activated?

some rumors came to my ear which say even a big google boss is present and will speak. would be nice for ms that google finally starts supporting win mobile (last week ms and google settled a patent dispute. google never wrote apps for windows phone, they even sued ms for their awesome youtube app)
edit: hololens devkit will be available beginning next year, 3000 usd though.
facebook, instagram and messenger universal apps coming to win10 devices
new ms band looks great too

seems windows 10 mobile is coming even to windows phone 7.5 devices like the lumia 800 which are 4 years old and havent even been upgraded to 8 (according to a devicelist xml in the ms knowledge base). ms is taking the win10 for every device to new level with this
