The award-winning Far Cry franchise that stormed the tropics and the Himalayas now enters the original fight for humanity’s survival with its innovative open-world sandbox gameplay, bringing together massive beasts, breathtaking environments, and unpredictable savage encounters.
Far Cry Primal will be available on PlayStation 4, XBOX One, and PC, coming out 23rd of February 2016. PC release on March 2016.
Set in 10,000 BC, Far Cry Primal follows Takkar, "a seasoned hunter and the last surviving member of his hunting group." As players survive in the land of Oros, "they will have to craft weapons and tools partly from the bones of slain beasts, hunt for food, master fire, fend off fierce predators and face off against other tribes to conquer Oros."
The debut trailer shows a small tribe of four stalking, hunting, and killing a herd of wooly mammoths before they’re attacked by a sabertooth tiger. Outposts (occupied by humans), spreading fires, and character upgrades return alongside new features, such as dead prey attracting new predators with its scent. The key art also suggests a sabertooth tiger companion for Takkar.
Ubisoft Toronto, Shanghai, and Kiev are assisting on Primal, which Creative Director Jean-Christophe Guyot said focuses on "the time when humans put a stick in the ground and claimed land for their own, the time when we started climbing the food chain. That came with conflict, against other humans of course, but also against nature itself.”

Interesting, but I don't think they can warrant a new title for this with just improved mechanics and stuff. MAYBE it's just a small lead to something entirely else.
And what would the main character be voiced as? The same sound Inter makes for a special edition of a favorite game? "Hngghhh hnghhh"
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
Wow. I like the Far Cry series, but this doesn't interest me one bit. Not even remotely
It interests me even more than the previous ones if it really is in that time period!
For what reason? What could you possibly get out of an Ice Age-era Far Cry? I... just don't get it. Give me contemporary or futuristic any day of the week =)

An authentic ice age setting would be interesting, but it's ubisoft, so it's more likely we get a tranny caveman, a black caveman, and an emancipated cavewoman with a job.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
When I saw Prehistoric in quotes I also immediately assumed they are remaking it as part of a Far Cry franchise and was very confused. Even more so when i saw that screenshot.
Only now do I realise that I made the wrong assumption
