So, you can't play the co-op game mode with someone online unless he is your friend and you make a party? There is no matchmaking to find a random player, just either single player or to create a party with a friend. O.o

Simple reboot fixed it, not sure what was wrong.
The game itself runs and looks great, but whenever there is major ui/menu (like when they add up the points at end of game for example) I get huge fps drops(not so much a drop as it just drops to 0 for a few secs).
The game plays decently.. its certainly star wars all right.. sadly it has the EA stank all over it. Also imo waty too many musical cues for too many things, reducing Williams's score to no more then gameplay soundbites

Holy lagfest batman! I keep getting booted off the match every few minutes. I'm just gonna wait a few days for the dust to settle.
The night beckons me

The beta works fine in 1600x900 fxaa in high on my rig (AMD jaguar + Radeon r7-260x), . Constant 60 fps.
No crash here whatsoever.
But you almost die instantly and barely understand what happens, specially when playing far from your screen

Use DSR/VSR and reduce the blur effects ^^
But let me add one thing: I dont like Call of Duty and its very small shit levels. The Battlefront 20 vs. 20 level is a lot bigger though thank god. And I like thats it not regular bullets all the time its laser stuff. Pretty refreshing.
One more thing: I couldnt invite people to my Rainbow Six Siege Squad and the matchmaking was shit and so on. Unplayable! Here it starts immediately runs beautifully no bugs noticed squad teamplay works fine....technically beautiful!

It's better to use the game's own resolution scaling if you intend to go that route for AA and image quality.

Its a good game. At least decent. Hardline though was really crap. From top to bottom. And Call of Duty is crap.

Ill get it for sure, its pretty solid, but its a simple game compared to BF4, ppl should not expect this to be a BF game, i played the first too battlefront games to death, and tbh , ppl have some nostalgic googles when it comes to classic games.
The game play is easy, yes, but its solid, its fun to play and the game is very polished imo, it will have more modes on launch, and these 2 are already great fun.
The lowest i have seen for this yet is 40€ on cdkeys do you know any lower price elsewhere?

We gotta wait for mexico 20-25€ stuff!
In the beta there are only 2 maps right? The vulcanic 8 vs 8 stuff and the bigger ice planet. I'd love to see Endor.

Can't say I'm a fan. The gunplay is really simple and not very satisfying and it's just a crapshoot everywhere especially if your playing rebels. Definitely not a bad game. It's well made and plays smoothly but just not my thing I don't think.
My first game I went 2/10 then on my 2nd I went 40/2. Now that's a steep learning curve!

That's also DICE/EA's retarded method of assigning you on a server based on your "skill". A ratio of 0.2 would put you to play with my 8 yrs old son, that would play the game just because it's a SW themed experience.
Been playing with a friend last night (we are pretty good BFBC2/BF3/BF4 players) and yea... it doesn't seem to have too much depth. Great graphics, great performance, apparently no screwed-up netcode (only died once behind cover - well... "cover"... lol, game is not designed to use cover). Game is simple, almost mindless shooting. BF4, compared to this, feels like a deep strategy game. Which is not, lol!
Anyway, we haven't decided yet if we should buy this.
Aeon wrote: | [...] it's something different than Battlefield 4, which I like. Somehow it feels refreshing playing it. I'm not going to buy this full price though, no way. |
Well said. My feelings exactly. Well, except the part about buying it for certain. Still pondering.

This to me is not an issue.
Fallout 4 comes out, and I will hopefully be balls deep into it even when Battlefront is out later that month. It is plenty of time to consider.
It it then time to buy it for what it is, not what you hoped it would be. A good looking Star Wars, a casual shooter perhaps, and then we'll get the new movie in December which will be very important for the future of Star Wars in my opinion. Is the movie good it will make Star Wars games even more popular than they are now - and maybe, Battlefront will add Episode 7 levels and Episode 7 heroes.
I agree that full price is steep for Battlefront. It will not be a day 1 purchase, as I explained I hope Fallout 4 isn't shit so that I won't need to really look for something else to play for a while and let Battlefront feedback pour in and hopefully even get some patches or updates, too.
Is Fallout 4 like Fallout 3 or New Vegas I will find enjoyment in that game. I hope also that Bethesda has taken inspiration in the work of the modding community for Skyrim (in some areas the modders have been amazing).

Feels like a good free2play game. The pop-ins are horrible though and yeah, the graphics look OK, but there is not much to render there on Hoth...

Really don't know what to think about this.
The graphics and sound are just amazing. Shooting your blaster feels so good! pew pew pew!!
But the gameplay. meehh, shallow as fuck. No squads, vehicules are random powerups, no strategy whatsoever, probably no weapon customisation and, minor gripe, all the weapon scopes are the same, which is kinda dumb (when zoomed).
Feels more like a reskinned CoD than a reskinned BF

Played this for the better part of yesterday. Personally, I love it. I had an absolute blast dog-fighting in the Tie Fighter / X-Wing. It's got just the right amount of speed, lethality, and flair to it. Turns out the pre-set moves I was worried about aren't good for much other than showmanship, and DICE removed any movement/altitude restrictions that were in the alpha, so you've got full roam of the skies.

Haven't had this much fun flying since BF2: Special Forces.
I don't have much to complain about infantry wise either. The blaster bolts seem to have just the right amount of speed to where you don't have to lead your target 7 feet to the right at a 20 meter distance like in Battlefield at least.
Seeing as how this is a push map with one side having the obvious advantage (Empire), and that it's on Hoth, it makes sense that there's very little cover apart from the last trenched section. I don't expect this will be an issue on other maps.
This will be an easy buy for me. Sure, you can argue that it's simplistic in comparison to whatever you please, but what's so wrong with that? I had fun playing, and it's a welcome break from the aging BF4 (which was a carbon copy of BF3), so yea, I needed a change.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Well the fighters with keyboard and mouse are useless. The enemies are too small anyway cant see shit ^^
The ground fights are wild. And the random powerups are certainly a new way to deal with the in-base-camper-spammer-vehicle-stealers. If they try to wait near a powerup all the time now they will die ^^
And you can play with the at-at for a short amount of time then you get thrown out. Also not bad. That way everyone can get a shot at the wild at-at!
