Zoomed out seems to have the same FOV as the old one but it's not tilted.
Zoomed in is a joke.

yeah zoom out max looks the same but its unplayable to me due to the angle, it makes 90 degrees with the land, useless

There's no patch. You have to download a whole new game. Look for the added Director's Cut entry at the bottom of your games list and install it.

He means the waiting for a patch that fixes the camera.
@JB, is there an option to tilt the camera?

It tilts as you zoom, the only setting I can find is that you can set the camera to not move when you have the cursor near the edges of the screen.
(Will hopefully be improved on in future patches, they didn't do a open beta so I'm sure fans have all sorts of suggestions now that they can play the game themselves although what inXile decides to actually implement we can only wait and see.)

I just installed this, and I must say. That fucking camera is shit. It would probably be fine if I was sat in front of a tv with a controller in hand, but I'm not.
I can't play this shit. I'd much rather go and play Fallout again, it has a far better viewing angle and area than this shit.
If I zoom out to get the same are view that I had in the previous game, the camera is stuck at the same 90 degree angle that made me seasick when first playing Driftmoon.
I'm quite disappointed in this.

So this just popped up in that Steam thread:
Brother None [developer] 15 minutes ago.
"Hey everyone! We hear you! We're working on the camera now and will change it back to the original zoom as soon as we're able."

seems like they finally tried to compress the files (iirc original 22gigs version could be easily compressed to 3 gigs)

i guess ability to tilt the view would be enough

They were supposed to provide proper mod support as part of the stretch goals, which they held back on once they announced the DC. Assuming they ever follow through on that, there might be avenues to fix some of that sort of stuff. Although Unity is pretty shitty for modding.

Anyone figured out how to removed that blurry line in the middle of the screen when scrolling?

I knew something felt off about the camera, good to see they're fixing it.
I've played up to Highpool so far and the DC isn't a massive improvement, but the changes they made are good. The new skill UI is a lot more convenient than clicking everyone individually, and the combat feels much better this time around. Human enemies make better use of cover and flanking, and mutants have some new abilities like the cockroaches in Highpool can poison you now.
And speaking of Highpool, they got rid of the worst thing about it...the stupid door maze. Now you can just go around opening every door instead of leaving someone behind to toggle them.
There's also a lot more voice acting, your party members sometimes vocalize during combat instead of just the text popup. And everyone you recruit in the world has their own voice.
Performance is still shitty. Although the graphics have slightly improved the framerate has stayed the same.

Probably won't know until mid-game onwards, but I'm curious what balance changes they made. Do assault rifles still remain superior to everything else I wonder?
