I don't. Why would I? If there's ever any music I want, I'd just torrent it Very Happy

My wife and I have a Netflix account simply for the same reason we have a library card; sometimes you don't know what you want, but it's nice to browse a store and pick something out without trying to find a decent release of it online grinhurt However, we're both pretty disgusted with Netflix' new restrictions on Android - you can no longer stream HD content on "unlicensed" Android devices, you have to have a specific device from their approved lists, mostly Samsung but somee nVidia stuff is there too, and it's all DRMed too - they actively check your device to see if it matches, even build.prop spoofs don't work, nor do the older "HD hack!" APK mods.

This is a recent thing too, within the last 8 months, since our Android stick used to work perfectly but now only streams SD.

Funnily enough, our Thompson Smart TV works with Netflix just fine, but egh, no VPN there so we're stuck with Norwegian Netflix Facepalm

It's not super terrible, but it's definitely not as stacked as the US Netflix - which is what we used to use VPN to get, until they stopped HD content working. We still use Hola on our PCs in order to view US Netflix and it's a good selection there.

No. But I do use the FREE service. Have all my music up there, around 4,000 tracks, listenable anywhere Smile

Well I have the same way as others here: Restrict it and I'll torrent it instead of subscribing to a service.

I pay to get the freedom, not to have silly old world rules still in place. Evolve already you industry dino's.

The new red/black style fits the policy well, now all they have to do is implement the G and it's perfect!
In all seriousness, the world definitely needs a valid alternative asap...until they also go full-retard and the circle starts again. Razz

(I've never paid for anything else than my ISP's (terrible) service, but I'm a bit of a grumpycat and the fishing experience in the seas did the rest xD)

I don't see how would YTers like Pewpie and others like that push the subscription model (that is why they are parading them with YT Red), as I assume most of their demographic are kids/young audiences who watch LPs because they do not have access to the funds in order to get those games or are not willing to do so. I doubt they'll pay a monthly subscription to watch these YTers, so I expect a start in torrenting/filehosting YT videos and/or these YTers migrating to other services.
Thus making the whole "top tier YT stars with YT Red" point, a little mute.

I think the top tier YTers will be showered with money from the subs. But I don't see people spending money on lesser known YTers.

It's all about who's trendy, I guess.

Well you don't get to choose who you give the subs money. It goes out evenly or based on individual negotiations to the YTers that are part of this program, if I understand correctly.

But like I said seeing that the bigger YT audience, who make up for most of the views (at least for YTers like pewpewpie) is composed of general school and highschool. I personally know some young people (~20 years) who are unemployed and they consume a ton of YT daily. Same goes for most students/pupils I know. And I just don't see these people cashing out.

Point is they need to do more than just YT "celebrities" and such. Maybe get some TV shows and movies there as well.

If you’re a terrible person, sure. The money to pay for the serverspace of all those videos has to come from somewhere, and you using adblockers is only going to mean more ads for everyone else.
