It might be a bit of a stretch but I really don't see how the 2nd meaning cannot be applied.

Anyway it seems like the release date is on the 6th of February which means the studio has the same reaction to the final product as I have to the trailer. A big meh.

Nah, February 2016.

But January and February are when studios dump movies they have no faith in and they just hope to make SOME of the money back but generally they don't expect to ever break even. Except for Valentine's Day when specific romantic movies are released.
