My hope is to bring back the peeps responsible of Bloodlines. Just afraid that Paradox will make the choice of developing in their own studios. |
They are all too scattered. Tim Cain was the lead on all Troika's games and works at Obsidian now. |

Holy shit, I just can't believe this happened... After all the CCP fuckups, I've given up hope that the franchise will ever see the light of the day (no pun intended, haha).
Give it to Obsidian, Tim Cain is there, and get the Bloodlines music composer, Rik Schaffer back, and start working on it. Man, that would be a blast...

My only concern is that Paradox doesn't have a stellar record when it comes to games.. lots of mediocre stuff imho..

I'm not sure what to make of the news. We could see a new classic in the vein of Bloodlines emerge, or the “multiple digital games titles” could see a string of shovelware in the vein of recent Games Workshop titles.

As soon as I saw the thread I was prepared for a troll bump or just a reinstall story praising the game (in my case it happens almost yearly) but this...this is different.

If it won't happen and someone else will use the universe for a mobile/mmo/moba game instead, I'll personally head to their HQ and suck so many necks that I'll lose all my humanity in one single day

It has a huge following and it is a Vampire The Masquerade game. We haven't had a good vampire game in a long time, people fucking WANT one. And it's an RPG by Obsidian (assuming here heh) it will sell good.
I think it appeals on hardcore RPG players, Obsidian fans, Vampire TM fans and even generally more casual tumblr snowflakes that want to get into a dreamy vampire story. And of course the hardcore community of the older games and the ones wearing nostalgia glasses.

Who would they even get to do a follow-up to Bloodlines? Obsidian seems like the only "name brand" option, but the thought of Sawyer being anywhere near it doesn't inspire me with confidence, not to mention that Avellone has now flown the coop. I'd really like to see CDPR's take on it, but they seem highly unlikely given they will be occupied with Cyberpunk and Witcher spinoffs. Nobody else really springs to mind as an obvious viable candidate.
