And there is the reason I have exactly zero hype for this game.
Talking and exploration are both the most important things for me. It's killing the hype but it's not dead yet. Not unless Epsilon wants to keep shooting my hopes out of the sky with his reality guided missiles
There will still be new animations to look at when you're talking with npc's. In true Bethesda fashion.
What i wonder is, now that the power armor is an temporary external armor, will there still be permanent equippable power armor likes? Probably not.
I liked how that raider on the stairs were stopped in her tracks when she got hit in the leg.
However the other raiders fell apart, like they were held together with string, when they were hit at distance with that minigun.
Also no first person view? it's in third person but the power armor hud is super imposed on the screen. If it can only be played in third person, then it's more like you're driving it. Not wearing it.

inorite? honestly, I'm disappointed by a few things that we know of right now, for all we know most of it could easily turn out to be false or misrepresented (yes, I believe in faeries! ), but I'm STILL ridiculously hyped and nothing is taking that away

I'm struggling to see the positive aspects. This is my most favorite game series of all time. Yes really, the original Fallout games changed how I viewed games and whats possible with them.
And to see the latest in a series that I care about a lot, being mishandled like it so far looks like. Really pisses me off, and I'm constantly trying to hold back the rage I feel. So I'm just focusing on going into details with it and deconstructing it objectively.
I really would like nothing more than to be able to love the title, but so far I hate it.
Despite several annoyances (mainly the graphics, animations and dialogue implementation) i also am still pretty hyped for this game and still consider preordering it.

As someone that feels *exactly* that way about Final Fantasy, my own favourite game series of all time, I wouldn't dare to try to convince you to feel otherwise Seeing my favourite series turned into a button mashing arcade brawler just to suit some fucking Ritalin-doped asshat pieces of shit that suddenly want in on the "cool" thing? Yeah, makes my blood boil.
I guess that makes me feel quite lucky about Fallout 3/NV/4, because as much as I loved the original FO1/2, I don't have that connection to them that you do. Hell, I was even able to play Brotherhood of Steel on the PS2 and absolutely *love* it
Incidentally you described how I view the reddit Fallout 4 audience quite succinctly.
We understand eachother then
I won't go into detail about the abomination on the ps2 or my opinion of it.
Nah. Final Fantasy turned to shit because of the rise of moe culture in Japan.
It's also the reason why almost all published JRPGs suck now. You could have a really cool system/story, but the Japanese gamer won't care. He wants his moe characters and will stomach anything as long as those characters are in there.
WTF is up with mouth breather this/that lately... the newest interwebz trend?
It sounds as dumb as the whole 'autistic' thing
Close your mouth when you are near me lad!
I dunno if it's a new trend, i've used it for years to make myself feel superior over drolling QTE loving casuals and similar folk

i think of it as a fallout skinned STALKER type of series now. a pew pew with rpg aspects, exploration and a cool setting.
I think it lacks the danger of radiation, basic needs, and emergent gameplay through factions interacting with one another(unconfirmed).
yeah, it's not even as complex as stalker. but i know i'll still enjoy it unless it's a total flop. f3 and fonv were both fun with a few mods.
Though I expect to be posting in this thread a year down the line with my impressions, when patches, dlcs, and mods are all in good shape, as usual. when almost everyone else will be busy spamming the new AAA near release game thread.
Well... I went and bought it.
Was waiting it out for better deals, but 7 days away from release most likely it won't happen. I could see the price going up in a few days. So 35€ has to do.

Remember to share your thoughts.
See if you can spot Lynda Carter in there. She's already looking like she might be auditioning for the role of a Bethesda NPC. And not just VO.
