some of the best fps mechanics ever, created by bungie.

The Zeel is right. Destiny, while being a terrible grindy game, has really fantastic shooting mechanics. From what I've read and heard, this is precisely why people keep coming back to it - the content is average at best, the quests boring, but the combat is top-notch.

Meanwhile:

Combat is soe good guise (webm from PS2 version I presume)

Also because of this I can't stop laughing:

Half-Life 2 from 2004 looks like a game from 2014 by FO4's standards Laughing

Has anyone noticed that the salesman resembles Howard? Do you think someone inside the company wanted to troll by implying that Todd is a salesman himself so good that he can make people believe every lie that comes out of his mouth?

How do you know? Once the preload arrives, there is just a 5mb file missing. Wouldn't be *that* hard to let that one slip out. (Though I have no idea how they track PC review copies.) A man can dream.

Either way, 4 days before actual release. And 30 minutes.

On Steam preload data is packed into container archives (And compressed.) with encryption that requires a key which is not available until the game is unlocked, someone would have to leak the review version with the files already unpacked and that's not very likely to happen.
(And even if the preload should somehow be cracked they still have the binaries omitted so no exe files.)

Because it's been the same for EVERY game before that. And there's been numerous games that have been streamed and shown before release, none of them leaked. There's no preload with unlocked files, there's not one chance you even know it's 5mb that is needed (which is also unlikely, judging every other title before).

I get it, you're new here, but you're getting your hopes up for no reason. It's Steam, there's no way in hell it'll unlock before Monday.

That has ALWAYS been the problem with dialogue wheels.

Even TW3 (without a wheel) had some shitty options where he said things I didn't think he would, where I just wanted him to say what was shown.

If I wanted to leave these things up to fucking chance, I'd make the choice with my eyes closed.

Dialogue options in all games should be much more literal and indicative of the choice you've picked.

Yup, there's definitely a poorly-worded choice that totally fucked me in my game.

So yeah. Not a fan of the dialog wheel.

I think it said something like "Attack him" in the English version but it could be the same as you mentioned, I knew about that quest beforehand though and that it would make things a bit difficult, I did not know however that Geralt would do that.

The only "modern" game I can recall off the top of my head that ever truly got it right, was the KOTOR series (and naturally the classic cRPGs on PC like Baldur's Gate and whatnot) - everything else has had this frustratingly vague truncated bullshit options. I'm tired of it also. I want to SEE what I'm supposed to be saying BEFORE I supposedly say it >_>

Wouldn't be so bad if there were maybe 4 of them really well hidden throughout the world. What are the chances of that though?

10 of them spread across the world. Doesn't seem so bad Smile

Harry is right. There won't be a PC leak because the only people to have PC copies right now (considering retail builds are missing data that will only unlock via Steam on release day) are reviewers - and they won't risk releasing because it could be traced back to them. This has happened dozens of times with PC titles, pre-release "stream" leaks and never actual game data leaks.

You shouldn't beat up on a guy because he believes different from you, even if you think he is delusional.

I could've sworn I was already twenty something hours into Skyrim before it was released in my country. Though I also remember a VPN provider setting up "Skyrim unlock" servers to Australia for $2. Memory isn't very reliable.

If what you say is true about steam encryption, are preloads going to be the same joke as GTAV was? I had to free up twice the game size to unpack it, and it took about as much time as downloading the game.

Originally the game unlocked 17 hours earlier than America, due to New Zealand time zone differences, but then Bethesda altered the unlock time to make everything equal. No VPN will get around that because there's no alternate and earlier timezone to VPN into Very Happy

Yeah Steam requires double the size, first it downloads the data and then it unpacks it and after that it deletes the preload archives so you do need some additional HDD space compared to if you were to skip the preload and just download the game after it's been unlocked where it grabs the files directly.

@Rashoumon You yourself said so back in this thread that you're pretty new, joining up in 2006 didn't help you to know how Steam works these days. See, not even by being an old member, that's how much this stuff "counts". That's not "beating you up", that's just straight facts you seem to deny b/c of hype. Preloads use this system since a while now, it's nothing new. And VPN solutions are something entirely else, that's just mere hours or a day in front of a release and many games are global lately so they don't make as much sense as back then.

GTA V only required double space if you didn't use Social Club for the Preload, the Retail version downloaded the raw data before release, only missing a few smaller things. Only reason I got half an hour before official release into the game, because someone noticed they already had the patches uploaded via direct links.

@sabin1981 sabin agrees with me, something's WRONG in here Are You Serious Aww Yeah

What does his being "new" here have to do with the rest of that sentence? There's a disjoint here. Like Witcher 1 dialog where you're talking about something and then all of a sudden Geralt arrives at some other topic. Or maybe the translation was poor.

But anyhoo, Geralt is probably with the mob or something. He didn't break that guy's legs. He just "pushed him aside, maybe a bit forcibly". It's not Geralt's fault that the dude, after being pushed aside, somewhat forcibly, fell to the ground and his one good leg accidentally fell between the pavement and Geralt's foot as Geralt was doing shadow kicks.

I just don't see how what I believe matters to you.

The facts are that someone has the game, which means there is a possibility that it will get leaked. The life-changing consequences for the person leaking the game doesn't remove that possibility, it makes it less likely to happen. Arguments such as "it never happens" and "that is not how steam works" does not remove that possibility.

Hope is a beggar.

A moment of poor judgement can make a disaster.

Well Steam said November 10th. Then everyone noticed NZ got it 17hrs earlier than US, making it November 9th effectively, and then Steam was updated to November 9th for everyone. I'd say *something* changed Very Happy

AUS/NZ get it "first", 17hrs ahead of US, if nothing changed.

http://www.designntrend.com/articles/62509/20151010/fallout-4-bethesda-game-release-date-pc-vpn.htm

But, again, this was back when FO4 Steam release said "November 10th" - now it says "November 9th" for everyone instead?

~edit~

The date went back to November 10th on Steam

so yeah, AU/NZ get it first. Asia and Japan get it last.
