So, another game that hasn't changed since beta? There's a fucking surprise.

But... but.... "it's a beta!" Surely optimisation is done last? It ran like shit in the beta, so surely the final game should be running great? EVERYONE said so when we complained of crappy performance in the beta! Mad Mad Mad

found this on reddit:
Code:
So for me this game runs great, except for when I have CPU usage spiking at 100% and staying there. The game freezes when that happens. And I have a good CPU: i5 4690k @ 4.5 GHz.

I got CPU usage at 100% (causing freezing) on the main menu and in the campaign. I'm only on mission 1 but numerous places in there I would have freezing for long period of time. Most notably when going up the elevator, coming across the robots for the first time, and when in the car.

THESE ISSUES ARE GONE once I'm connected online. These issues happened when I wasn't connected to the Call of Duty servers. Once I did connect (which caused the game to freeze until I was connected) my issues were GONE. No CPU usage issues.

I tweeted this to PCDev but thought I'd share it with everyone else and wanted to see if anyone else has a similar experience. It's an issue but will hopefully be less of an issue when none of us deal with VPNs so we are online and hopefully they can patch this soon regardless.

the game is just more or less unplayable offline it seems Laughing

No zombies offline.
No bot match offline.
No campaign offline.

So I think I found some solution. Looking around on reddit it was suggested to set WorkerThreads in ini to 2 from 4 and now it doesn't freeze anymore. Let's see how it runs on 2 threads then. Laughing No ideo how it is connected to being online though.

After lowering some settings a bit got it running at 60. Considering how it looks though my setup should be able to run it with no sweat maxed out.

970, 3570k @ 4,2 and 8gb. Dunno if you will be able to run it. Some of the settings hammer the framerate very hard so setting them to low/medium might give it the boost you need.

The campaign is fun so far if you like these games but still I'm getting the occasional FPS drop if some intense shit is going on, primarily in cutscenes though.

Trash game, trash port. My poor 770 kept dipping into the 45's at 1920x1080 - taking the mouse control with it. Uninstalled in disgust after the first "real" mission, where it asks you to unload about 15 rockets on one enemy who continues to pummel you, completely unphased. Laughing

For anyone running a 970 and experiencing crippling stuttering: change texture quality to High instead of Extra. Apparently, doing so moves the VRAM load back into the bearable 3.5 GB partition. Sad.

I'm playing the campaign, and um... it's not so bad tbh - graphics are a hellalot better than previous, although that damn chronic abortion effect is all over the fucking place.

No stuttering for me tho, everything on High, and 60 fps no bother. Somehow I can't imagine Ultra making it any more pretty...

To make it run stable i have to pick rendering res to like 40% or i get constant drops for no reason. Of course with that setting even if all settings in advanced are all high game look extremely bad (not that on 100% is something amazing though).
But at least there is a way to play without stuttering when it looks like shit unlike BAK.
With that being said its time to delete this PoS Laughing

not sure if the reloaded is a bad crack but it keeps crashing for me every few seconds after starting the game.

ah nevermind, turned out the bitdefender was the issue. had to add the game to exclusion and no more crashes.

batman AK is poolished and well optimized compared to this Laughing Laughing

also, apart from the performance - is it just me or is the sound design plain crap? COD games were never outstanding in this regard, but explosions and shooting sound like someone clapped a bunch of tin cans together

Well I seem to be the odd one out... as long as I set textures to just 'High', I'm getting zero issues... Very odd, not a single judder in sight.

And I 'only' have 8gb Laughing

I don't know what to tell you guys, maybe it's a Windows 10 thing? Very Happy

Anyway, it's very much Cod meets the Matrix - typical run n gun stuff.

can't even get past the menu, CPU runs at 100% and the whole thing is like a powerpoint presentation.

is this a really sophisticated anti-piracy measure, or the game is simply optimized like a horrendous piece of shit?

Change WorkerThreads in config.ini to 2. It's in the game directory in the players folder. Fixed that issue for me.

Along with the stuff recommended by the previous poster, try running High textures if you're running <4 GB of VRAM
