hmm, did anyone got the FOV working?
i tried this herE:
Quote: | Change the Field of View
Open fallout4_default.ini in the Application location. Open Fallout4Prefs.ini as well as Fallout4.ini from the configuration file(s) location as well. The following lines have to match.
Find the following lines, and set it to whatever Horizontal FOV value that you want. Recommended: minimum of 90 to avoid motion sickness.
[Display]
fDefaultWorldFOV=90
fDefault1stPersonFOV=90
|
but it doesnt change it at all.. 80 is teh same as 90 and the same as 100..
i did writeprotect the files also for testing purpose.
any hints?

I managed to make it work but it will eventually reset when you are playing and after that it won't work again until you exit the game completely and then start it up anew.
EDIT:
[Display]
fDefaultFOV=85.0000
fDefault1stPersonFOV=85.0000
fDefaultWorldFOV=75.0000
[Interface]
fDefaultWorldFOV=75
fDefault1stPersonFOV=85
A subtle "5" increase over the default values, if you want to try it yourself then after changing these when you are in-game write "FOV 85" in the console and it shouldn't change your viewing area, however since you have now entered "FOV" the game will trigger the reset and once you take down the console it'll be back to 80
(Fast travel, sprint or even just opening the pip-boy can all reset it as well so it's not a full solution even if the value can be made to "stick" temporarily by editing all FOV settings in the ini.)

THX jonas for the suggestions..
And yes @ h0rnyfavn , this really is a piss port.
i spend 1 hour allone to setup the resolution i want. it didnt show any res. to pick from when selecting Fullscreen and in windowed i only had 720p 480p and 1440x something to choose from..
also,l whats with those FPS? 37 fps locked?!?!
i did spend another 20mins, to find out what i had to do to play it at atleast 60fps, without having glitches..
Oh boy.. modders to the rescue please
At first glance i thought this is an Ubishit Game..

After some more tinkering with the game, i concluded i absolutely hate that workshop recycle / build shit interface. So, is the game playable without all that mess ? Can i enjoy the story, quests and exploration without that shit ever becoming mandatory for game progression?

You dont have to scrap your junk. Just transfer them all into the construction tables and whenever a resource is needed the item will be automatically scrapped.
With perks you can unlock traderoutes between settlements which gives a shared inventory of those crafting stations.

iirc Borderlands also reset the fov to default when entering vehicles or sprinting. The solution was to reconfigure a frequently used key (like W for forward) to additionally change the fov to the desired value, so whenever you moved forward the fov 95 command was issued aswell.

I'm playing it on a mechanical and so is my girl... I wouldn't call the loading times that long. Might be longer later on in game, we'll see. But for now I see no reason to move it to my SSD (witcher is hogging that space).
I really can't complain about how it runs on my setup. Stable 60 with everything maximized. Guess the 970 is bruteforcing through it. Was a bit worried because of my ancient i5-2500

Adding iFPSClamp=60 to the general section of the Fallout.ini completely fixed all the stuttering i had. Now it runs smooth as butter. Before there was some very annoying stuttering when looking around with the camera even if i had 60FPS.
No need to disable in game v-sync. iFPSClamp=60 will to a perfect job if you have the hardware to maintain 60fps.
