You don't have to start over.

CONSOLE COMMANDS:s

Much better to just increase the carry weight:

player.modav carryweight 5000

That's what I did. I hated having to run back to town in the middle of exploring a large location. It breaks the flow of the game and now that all that crap has an actual use, the weight limit is even more punishing than ever.

true, the weight limit bugs me in this game. I purposely put a lot into strength from the outset knowing that I would run into this problem in game. Too much time is spent micromanaging all the crap you inevitably end up lugging around... like do I dump that teddy bear or that raider left leg armour etc etc.. no I'm sure I'll need that test tube some time in the future.. I succumbed to modding the weight values in past games. Although it left me to concentrate and enjoy other aspects of the game, in the back of my mind I felt like I was somewhat cheating still.. Sad

It's only cheating if the UI was amazing. But the UI is shit so it's fair game. Still doesn't solve the Misc section. Or maybe I'm retarded and just don't know how to filter between holotapes/notes/read/unread/etc.

I can't help you there mate, I've haven't tried setting any filters as of yet. Thing is when I start modding the game, it's the start of the end for me.. as I end up changing other things too and then pretty soon i've taken out the challenge of the game, and I end up either not finishing the game or start playing something else.. must...need...willpower...

I feel like using cheatengine to temporary fix weight problem on the fly or using this console command is totally justified because of this ridiculous crafting system, that forces you to pick up literally everything to have just enough resources to build some crappy turret. Laughing

Tbh all junk items shouldn't weigh anything.

It's cheating but the kind of cheating that doesn't actually make the game more difficult - only less annoying . I mean, yes, you can run back to your home in the middle of exploration so it just drags out the game.

Not to mention that I tend to not use teleportation when I can and having to walk back and forward just to get rid of loot is just inanely boring.

maybe they should have gone with that actually h0rnyfavn. Make all junk items zero weight and put weight on the ammo instead. It would be far more relevant to the 'survival' aspect of the gameplay.

For me the game isn't good enough to warrant not cheating. I dunno if that makes sense. Like I never considered cheating weight limits or merchant values in Witcher 3, but in this I really do not bat an eye at doing it

well that does make sense, I get where your coming from Hailey. Like some games when they are really good, you just want to play it properly and beat them the way they are.. (if that makes sense too :s). Whereas FO4 you kind of get the impression the weight limits are sort of not really integral to the game and somewhat tacked on to give it some sort of realism.. and most likely as red_avatar mentioned, just to extend it's playtime by making you go back and forth.

I just cheated some more carryweight too again.
Had 315 before. But now i was constantly at that limit, even with no crap items and only the needed weapons/armor.
Increased it by another 100. Don't want to increase it by an extreme amount, as that would feel too much of cheating.

Is anyone having any sound issues with the dialogue being low? I wish they would just give us a proper 5.1 or 7.1 setting in the audio options as I have to crank my speakers up a lot just to hear the dialogue properly and even then I still miss some of it as the npcs seems to like to talk to you when you are like 30 ft away. I already maxed the in game voice setting but it does not seem to be helping much so maybe someone else has found a solution.

hmm, he's carrying some good stuff on him otherwise I wouldn't mind so much and just let him wander for a bit. They can't die permanently though can they?. Otherwise I'll get more worried about maybe never seeing my stuff again.

When I have a full set of armor and five weapons I'm under 200 weight. Are you carrying all the food around that you ever found or something? Confused

Just had an encounter with a legendary super mutant something, was one hell of a fight and then... got a shit-ass irradiated pool cue as a reward Neutral

They did a superb job in "blowing up" the locations, a similar location in FO3/FO:NV is barely 1/3 of the size when compared to this one (specifically the corvega factory).

The legendary gear is completely random, most of what I've got so far has been shit too. A lot of the situational modifiers (+% to animals, -% damage taken from animals/robots/muties) aren't really worthwhile.

But I also have a few good ones, like a leg piece that gives you a stealth field when crouching still. LOL

@xyzg Dog houses, look for them, then remove all and place a new one in front of your primary yard. Done.

@tonizito True, the map might be smaller, but the city feels like one and in general every location makes more sense than the "luuul map maker" FO3 or NV ones.

What's really annoying is that legendary opponents only drop 1, and the armor looks like shit. I would prefer if they gave set drops. Still level 25 though so we'll see if maybe they'll drop full suits instead.
