I bought LotV directly on Blizzard Shop because of the bonuses, but I purchased several games on OP before and there were no problems. Once the e-mail with a gift key was missing, but the support guy responded promptly and sent a new code.

Thanks. I ended up buying it from g2play.net; unless you are talking about the deluxe edition, I think you get all the rewards related to the standard edition if you buy a key elsewhere and then activate it on blizzard's site (I got Artanis for HOTS for instance).

I nearly bought the box version today. 30 quid.. but I held off.. I might still but it next week, but I'm undecided whether to just go for the cd key instead at the moment for a few bucks cheaper. Were it not for fallout 4 which I can play for the time being I would have got it today.

I guess Blizzard's decision to release with FO4 was idiotic after all. Who would have thought?

Difference is (at least for me) that F4 was day1 release with no multiplayer and all stuff is avaliable in yarred version. SC2 on the other hand is not lol, also for that price, which includes 2 previous campaings and other shit its quite a good deal. There are shitton of stuff in mutlipayer even if you dont play competitive games.

I guess VGA, but it's only because I had already bought the steam controller today, that it felt painful to part with the best part of a hundred quid by picking this game up too at the same time. I had plans to buy SC2 from time ago though as I bought the previous 2, buying fallout 4 was never really in the equation. Although I am kinda glad it was released simultaneously as it's given me something to play/*cough*test.
I'llprobably pick this up in some steam sale in the distant future anyway, when it's like a fiver GOTY edition.

Ermahgerd, the campain is punishing! Two nights playing it off to *only* reach 7th mission. Some achievements require a lower difficulty (playing on Hard) so far. Narrative aspects? Better than HoTS, on par with WoL, although I'm a sucker for Sci-Fi and that space opera innuendo is getting me Pffchh

I find it ridiculously easy so far. Had you played the other campaigns? My only really complaint with SC2 is the campaign is just a glorified tutorial really. Each level has a new unit and if you use that unit you win.

I've done everything on brutal including all achievements, the only ones i found hard were the defence once that you're supposed to lose.

I played on Hard and didn't have many problems except with the defense missions and some achievements that I think are impossible to get on Hard+.
Did you consider the narrative of WoL so good? I found it extremely slow to a filler-like level not to mention the overall plot was kinda meh.

Yes I did, WoL in Brutal HoTS in normal (just for the story) and the defending ones, as you say, are hard and punishing! Spear Of Adun, the Temple one... I like that. HoTS was a walk in the park with the everly present hero. As I see it, Blizzard wants to return to more presky missions à la BW, and that's a +1 in my book!
To be honest I'm getting older for quick reflexes-multitasking games, and I like to take my time thinking strategies and restarting if necessary Smile

About campaign being a glorified tutorial, tell me a RTS game which doesn't do that! Multi is a very important aspect of the game itself... but the story, cheesy and camp as it is, is great in its appropiate context, and the quality of assets is top notch IMHO.

How did you find the story? No spoilers please, but I'm enjoying it. More fleshed characters, some ambivalent dread feeling... cool.

Cheesy story indeed, but it felt like a soap opera in space (low quality space opera? like a B-series flick) which is fun in the appropiate context, and the cutscenes are amazing. Brood War was miles ahead story wise, but I'm replaying the whole WoL from time to time and I certainly skip most but not all cutscenes.

Hard for me, as I said in previous post, is taxing. And good. Gonna replay it on Brutal in some time, and I'll try to get all achievements, yes. Will do a shit-ton of save and restart I'm sure, but that's the fun of it (at least it was in WoL replay) Smile
Defense missions and the pushing one (I'm on 7th mission mind you) is worth the price of admission so far.

The new co-op mode is pretty awesome if you have a buddy to play with. I can see putting in some time and leveling up. Also, seems that you can do at least one co-op mission and use the first 3 heroes without have LotV.

Story is ok, i was a bit disappointed, felt rushed and disjointed as someone else said. I think seperating into terran/zerg/protoss doesnt work for a grand finale. It felt wrong not having Jim and Kerrigan there, especially Kerrigan who i thought would play a much larger role.

Never in my experience has a whole campaign been used as a tutorial, it doesnt even make sense in starcraft because most of the units you wont even have in multiplayer, also single player has autocast for everything, surely MP doesnt do that?

It feels like a lot of wasted potential, every level has a unit and a gimmick and that was it. That would have been fine if it had a few epic levels in between where you have to use everything you've learned to survive.

That said, i just did the epilogue on brutal and it was fucking brutal!

Thanks StrEagle, aaw that's a pity, would love to be able to go through the game in co-op mode. Still it's better than nothing i suppose. Hopefully it won't just be limited to a few of the easy training like missions, like where they give you like a couple of tier one units and it's all over and done with within a few minutes?; and they include some base building ones.
That late (last) mish from Wings would be ace, you know the one where you basically just have to hold out and they throw everything at you , but you still lose anyway . Laughing

Blizzard should do an Archon Mode for the whole campaign. They have the code, just implement it. Profit.

If i own legit WoL ENG wonder what will happen if i activate LoV RU copy? Anyone knows?
I remember there was something about D3 if you own ENG version of D3 and activate RU version of expansion you get it in ENG.
