I'm all up for remakes that improve or expand, but what on earth do they think they could add that'll make it a better movie than the original?

This is dumb on every level. Hopefully at some point the execs from the studio will realize that and cancel this shit.

Wrong. People do not use Polaroids today and thus cannot connect with the original film's premise. The remake will introduce instagram selfies to fit with today's cultural expectations.
