No news yet, I think the *enormous* backlash they've been receiving over the piss-poor porting of the two previous games, including the fact that most people simply can't sustain their bullet-pointed "60fps!!" in XIII-2, means they might be really taking their time to get XIII-3 working properly. It's the most intensive of the three versions on console, so I can't imagine the PC version being better than XIII-2.
So any news on Lightning Returns??
They have it for Spring 2015 on http://squareportal.net/release-dates/
and there is not much of a spring left and still no info
I guess they're back into their caves after the release and success of TW3.
Seriously though, even if they release a flawless Lightning Returns port (chance of 1/10000000) I'll personally have a tough time to return to this generic JRPG style that FF has become.
Are the other games worth me even giving a chance?
God yes i just started playing FFIX again it's such a fantastic game i would gladly take a remake of it over every other title in the series it oozes atmosphere , or FF XII IZJS it's basically the anti FF XIII and has the best game play in the series (also the best art style looks so pretty in pcsx2 ).
But that's just my 2 favorites i actually like every game in the series except the FF XIII saga, since they all bring something different to the series.
Haha, I think he means are the others in the XIII series worth giving a chance And yes, actually, they are. XIII-2 improves upon XIII in every way and really makes it more classic, thoroughly enjoyable and surprisingly nonlinear, FF title. LR-XIII is more of an action RPG hack'n'slash but is thoroughly enjoyable.
Kitase P here, to report the current status of the development of the PC version of FFXIII LR.
We are currently putting the finishing touches to the game and it will take a bit more time until it's complete. We should able to release it around December.
I'm terribly sorry for the late release despite saying that the game will be out in Autumn.
We will share more details with you at a later date.
Well, at least we have refunds now. Hopefully they will learn quick if they release shitty ass port and people start getting their money back quick.
Yup, this is the ONLY thing that's making me think they'll do it right this time. The knowledge that if it's a shit port people can, and will, refund en masse? Yeah.. I think that's a hell of a large whip to have hanging over the devs at SE.
The world is sinking into a sea of chaos, and in thirteen days nothing will remain. After centuries in crystal stasis, a hero has awoken -- a legendary warrior on a god-given mission to save the souls of mankind. Her name: Lightning.
Blessed with incredible strength and an arsenal of new weapons, she has everything she needs for the coming battle. Everything except time. And now she must make impossible choices... How will you spend your final days?
The "FFVII Aerith" schemata is not included in this pack. Furthermore, there are no plans to make this schemata available in future.
Notes:
This version of the game has had no changes or additions made to the story of the original LIGHTNING RETURNS FINAL FANTASY XIII.
This game does not support Dolby Digital sound.
This version of the game includes some of the downloadable content released for the original.
The bonus items originally awarded for having save data from previous games in the series will be awarded in this version regardless of whether there is suitable save data present or not.
Includes no functionality linked to Square Enix Members or social networking sites.
It is not possible to change the names assigned to chocobos, map markers or schemata
Notice what's missing and what they're not proudly proclaiming any more? 60fps. Considering how much more system intensive XIII-3 was compared to the previous two titles, I have no doubt this will run much worse on PC as it did on PS360.
~edit~

*Steam Cloud needs to be active in order to start this game.
Oh aye? What's this then?

No price yet. The screenshots are old console promo material. I don't remember the trailer but it seems like the same old choppy console footage too.
It'll have almost all of the DLC except Aertih schemata
Maybe we can port the missing one from console files who knows. The 13 and 13-2 schema will be awareded even if you don't have a save file from those games unlike the console release. These things include the outfit, a sword and a shield. They all have special characteristics like the other gear in the game too and people even comment on some of them in town.
The page doesn't show the DLC ones but I err...well...I made a picture long ago used for a....certain...purpose so....these are the ones we get except Aerith.
They're not promoting that this time. Remember XIII/XIII-2 had "60fps for PC!" emblazoned on their Steam pages, this time it's missing. In fact, the only place you can even see a mention of it is in small print.. under the system recommendations at the bottom of the page, where it says there's a 60fps "cap"
If you couldn't get, and sustain, 60 in XIII-2 - like many couldn't - I really wouldn't expect it in this
I haven't played a FF game for years, I don't understand the numbering. Is this a stand-alone, full game that I can just play without playing any previous games?
