It does seem like most people's system is definitely residing in a "under the TV, covered in dust" position right now. I just don't understand what Nintendo's plan for the system is.. or was. It doesn't seem to be targeting any specific demographic and the software catalogue is woefully lacklustre. As this point, even with a "backup hack" out, I just don't have any attraction to it whatsoever.
Mario Kart 8, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Lego City Undercover, Fatal Frame. That's about it
Kind of gave me the same vibe as the PS Vita: not really sure what to do with it at release and still nothing after a while. Might pick one up if I can get it dirt dirt cheap for the titles you listed.
Well, it picked up again today with the release of Battlefront for PS4.. which came with a Star Wars Legacy game pack, including SNES title "Super Star Wars" and the PS2 version of Star Wars Bounty Hunter. DF released an article discussing the emulation and improvements on the PS4 versions of the games
i think ps2 emulator is just pure nonsense, nothing anyone would love to have. only reasonable thing would be a ps3 emulator which just isnt possible
LOLWUT? Many people want PS2 backwards compatibility and it was an enormous sore point to everyone when Sony kept phasing it out of the PS3 hardware revisions. I know I bought my specific PS3 model purely because it had hardware support for PS2 titles, even though it was only "half" hardware with the CPU but not the GPU component.

That actually looks really good...
Hmmmmmmm, might pick up a PS4 at one point if they're piss cheap
I'm most impressed with the apparent performance improvements, something even PCSX2 doesn't do on PC... unless you're lucky enough to have a working AR/GS code.
so what do you really want to play again on a bad emulation on ps4? pcsx2 is way to go and most of the games work flawless with "standard" pc hardware these days with way better gfx quality than sony could deliver with the shitty ps4 hardware. and even if they push out a ps2 emulation to public -> they wont support ps2 discs, you will need to buy them again on psn
I can honestly say I'd love to have PS2 compatibility on my PS4. PS2 is actually the console I missed - I only played a couple of titles when I borrowed one from a friend. To be able to revisit things I missed now would be pretty cool.
tbh even if you played great games like ico, or shadows of the colossos when they came out its hard to replay them again. and if you never played them most likely you wont even play it for a long time, i.e. stop after 10 minutes
My PC is currently a 8 year old piece of junk. It manages to run some indie and kickstarter stuff, but pcsx2 is pretty much beyond its grasp. So PS4 emulation is a good compromise for me - assuming the price of these titles will be tolerable. Also, I often go back to old games, from PSX era and before too, so stuff from PS2 shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, if you just want it because you missed out before... PCSX2 is the perfect start. Compatibility is spectacular nowadays and if you've got a half decent PC (core 2 duo or quad ringing in at 3.6Ghz and above) you should have no trouble with the vast majority of titles. PS2 emulation on PS4 is really only for "legitimate" players and those without access to the required PC hardware. Personally, I really like the idea on PS4 and at least this time the emulation is more than just 1:1, with the upsampling and framerate improvements, but egh, at least with PCSX2 you can download an ISO, eh?
really cool that performance and visuals are improved on the ps4 emulation.
There's even some shitty PS3 hd remasters that I'd rather play on an emulator like this on PS4... I wonder if they'd release those again somehow as PS2 emulated games?
Zone of the Enders HD on PS3 had terrible performance.
I can only imagine that the PS4 emulated version would be far superior.
I think Silent Hill HD had tons of weirdness too.
Looking forward to this!
Likot Mosuskekim, Woodcutter cancels Sleep: Interrupted by Elephant.
i dont think sony has a "universal" emulation, instead it has to be optimized for every game (otherwise it wouldnt make sense to implement trophys which most likely needs some deep checks in the games)
