also, looks like the ini files you sent me are the ones you took the shot with, as you can see extra foliage on mine when i set it to ultra preset+godrays on low.

This is amazing (in a negative way).

@1080p in that scene with your prefs.

On my 290X the Fps hover around 27.8 FPS on stock frequencies. Overclocked, from core 1020 to 1150, mem 1350 to 1500, I get 28.2 FPS. Laughing

In virtually every other game, 10% OC leads to a healthy 10% more FPS. Not so in Fallout4, where GPU usage drops to below 50% and overclocking the GPU wont help a bit.

3570K @ 4.5Ghz btw.

Well done Bethesda. Laughing

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

yep, the engine is trash. I won't be touching the game until they optimize cpu usage, as even the 45 fps i'm getting there is a joke considering what's on screen.

There is no CPU out there yet that can do 60 fps in certain scenarios in fallout 4. Imagine having a 980ti SLI, and then getting 50 fps because you are limited by your slow i7 skylake Laughing

With fallout 4 I'm getting about 60fps or more playing at 1080 but when I climb shit and look at the view it goes down to 20fps, my specs are 5820k @ 4.2ghz, 16gb ddr4 and a 390 8gb using 15.11 Beta.

This engine needs updating I think Laughing

you should test that save file if you got the time. curious to see what a 6 core i7 gets in that scene with an AMD card.

I got 37 fps in that scene FYI

(hmm minus currently having issues it seems, at least for me), so temp, crappy imgur link: http://i.imgur.com/IN4RRdW.jpg

Could bump my cpu clocks higher (because I'm at stock currently) to see if that bumps the fps or not if anyone is interested.

Yea, at least for Amazon. So i guess other shops will do BF too at the same day, like last year.

// Will try the savegame with the config too, to see how my GPU gets raped. Laughing

what specs? and yeah, i'm having issues with minus as well for at least 2 weeks now. their servers are crap.

thx for testing lads, yea defintely shit engine. 980ti and a 5930k at 4.4, gets 3-4 fps more than a 970 and a 4.6 4670k Laughing

i had a friend with a fury x and a 3770k at 4.3 ghz test the same scene, he got 34 fps. mind boggling how cpu nerfed the game is, especially on AMD.

I wish it was a Ti Crying or Very sad

Two people I know with 980 Ti cards seem to gain around 10 - 15FPS more than I do, which would probably bring it to 60 in the majority of cases for them

ah, dunno why I thought you had 980ti.

i have a friend with a 980 ti and the same cpu who will do the test later with this scene. I honestly don't think it will be 60 fps, as this is completely cpu limited. I think the 4fps extra is from your i7 and you probably have faster RAM. benches around the web show that RAM speed actually raises min fps in this game.

i definitely think so. because I get exact same fps at 1080p and 1440p in that scene.
http://imgur.com/a/CNeSD

its just gpu usage goes from 61% to 79%. so clearly more juice in the gpu left.

unless the 770 becomes the bottleneck. you should use afterburner so you can monitor GPU usage as well.

I;d downclock myself, but I already deleted the game as I don't plan on playing it yet, just installed it for testing comparison.

cool. thx for confirming. so we need around a 6-7ghz cpu for constant 60 fps in fallout 4? Very Happy seems like 100mhz is around 1 fps increase Laughing

16GB of DDR4 2400 for what it's worth

yep, that would probably account for the 4 fps coupled with the i7.

wow just looking at that screen and then at your system specs and the fps you achieve... this has to be the worst optimized pos I've seen in a long time Neutral Batman at least looks great while it runs like shit! Don't test your cards ability on ugly crap like that. Btw I'm not attacking the game itself, I can understand why people like it. It's just a visual insult to your great hardware.

crappy inneficient engine from the time of single core days, with tacked on modern features= system hog.

I bet that's part of the reason NV has no SLI profile. people would notice no gains and think SLI sucks.

I think I'm using the same settings for the game (ultra + godrays on low), didn't bother to use the included ini's.

I tested Tolanri's file too, and yup, no surprises. 38fps with my 2500k(4.3) and 970. Razz
The only option that greatly affects the framerate in such cases is the shadows distance, if I leave everything on Ultra but keep that one on Medium, all the drops disappear. The game obviously looks terrible with the shadows popping from nowhere, a Gamebryo deja-vu, heritage of the mid 2000s. Very Happy

Minus unfortunately is a goner :<. I contacted the support weeks ago and never received an answer, I basically lost all my screens from bulgaria and the ones left can be barely opened because all the servers are powered by mole rats.

Imgur default does suck for screens, but if you make an account there's the option to upload uncompressed images and create albums, that's nice. Razz (Alternatively, Imagebam or Picpar work fine for quick uncompressed uploads).
