I managed to get my hands on NIS 2006..but apperantly it was 2005 Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad faked file..aaaarrgghhh

what forum?!!?!?

I think a second release will be released soon by another group. Having to join a forum in order to use a program is completely stupid. I don't believe you will be able to use this program for long, with only one serial released. Sooner or later it will be blacklisted. Better wait for a keygen as 2004 and 2005 had one.

My guess is they are trying to say that you should wait for the Liveupdate window in the program to appear before you reconnect to the internet.....

After activation is done, the program tries to connect to symantec's website to create an account of some sort, even though you activate it with the phone ooption.

Just read that myself. LIVEUPDATE forum, huh? I will get it, keep on ice for about a month and see what people report back about this release.

And there's no forum involved... It's probably a typo or bad translation or something....
They must mean 'the LIVEUPDATE window'.

The same activation trick works for all retail versions of Norton 2006:
Antivirus 2006
SystemWorks 2006
Internet Security 2006
SystemWorks Premier 2006

On the retail cd-version there is, but not on the downloadable version, Check the manual on page 18:

yes, there is PHONE ACTIVATION just like the 2005 one!!!

but no key gen, but the nfo got a working serial, and activation code :>

Live update is working fine for me. I uninstalled my original of SystemWorks 2005 & Internet Securoty 2005, rebooted and installed both SystemWorks 2006 & Internet Security 2006. No problems what so ever. The only thing I'm bothered about is everyone having the same key(s). A keygen would be nice Smile

OK People! I got both Norton 2006 products to work with NO PROBLEM. They work!
For Symantec Norton Systemworks 2006 I had the Hotiso release and here is what you do(same goes with any working release of the NIS 06):
1-Mount and install the product with the Cd-key provided in the nfo file.
2-If you see no autorun screen you have to right-click on the cd driver and open to browse for the main setup file, if sitll you click the main setup file and it takes forever and nothing happens, you need to uninstall the previous products, say systemworks 2005.
3-Before rebooting, after installation, make sure you are disconnected preferably physically from the internet.
4-Reboot and follow the activation process to the phone activation.
5-Here put the ***** serial provided in the nfo file, this will give you about two thousand something days.
6-Click next, DONT CONNECT YOUR INTERNET YET. A screen appears for you to make an account in the "live update forum" the nfo was referring to. Just click try agian several times till the cancel option appears and then click cancel.
7-The liveupdate screen appears after probably some other screens and here you can reconnect to the internet to do the liveupdate.
That is all... Very Happy
