Currently downloading New Vegas on Steam. This just made me miss that game even more.

Also relationships with companions are just garbage. Their interaction with the quests are really minimal, maybe a quip or two at most unless it's their companion quest.

Also I wish romance was simple like that. Just wait around for girls to approach me and hint about their interest and I can just flirt if I want to get down.

So, just had the "romance" with Curie.
What the fuck was that. Just some talking, not even a nice lesbian sex scene.

Yeah it's pretty lame ain't it?

But excellent taste for romancing Curie. Though we're just friends because my wife just died. I was frozen. It feels like it happened yesterday.

Finished it, about 100 hours gone. Thought it was a good game. I know everyone wants to hate on it, but it's one of the better games that released this year. Only a couple others that were better.

Left me wanting to replay FNV though. Just need to find a list on reddit or somewhere of a comprehensive list of mods to overhaul it. I am too lazy to do that myself. Very Happy

Just wait 4 years when modders finally release a FONV mod in this engine, kinda like the oblivion to skyrim mod we.......never got.

also the loading screens lol what a big fucking mess this game is.

They are as slow AF even with a SSD, I'd hate to see how long it takes on a regular HD, yeesh.

Also the loading times are not really long (at least on my SSD). But the sheer amount of them, god.
Sometimes you get a loading screen to enter a building that only has one fucking room with not even characters in it.

There isn't much to do below Diamond city. Sad There are like only 35-40 places to explore, and most of them are very small areas/buildings.

Top half took around ~150 hours. Bottom took less than ~50 hours.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

I'm worried, because I had only cleared half of the map at 90hrs. Is there really not that much beyond half way down the map? I barely even touched quests either. Lots of building though

I cleared/explored almost everything. I'm sure there are a couple spots on the map I have missed. Did hardly any settlement stuff.

Did you explore (nearly) everything in the south?
If yes, at least i can continue doing the quests then and maybe being done with game soon. Very Happy

Yes. Done with exploration. That's entire south, sadly.

Damn man, that's some hardcore... um... Hardcore Mode Very Happy Even though it's too meta and hardcore for my tastes, I do love your stance of selling stimpacks (though you COULD craft your own, that would fit nicely with the HC theme) and growing your own food for health. That's a nice touch Very Happy

They really got lazy with this game in terms of equipment. Mentality is that modders will add more anyway. Bah.

Get a new engine Beth so you can stop being lazy. Have modders learn something new.

The game has a serious amount of issues that deserve complaining about and I've given my fair share of criticism regarding several elements too. Complaining about a skeleton in a chair? Or ghouls hiring you to take out feral ghouls?

That's pointless nitpicking. IMO.

If you pickup a bobblehead and you are already at max level of 10 for a stat, it will permanently raise it to 11. HOWEVER if you are at 9 for the stat, pickup the bobblehead, it raises it to 10. You CANNOT get to 11 at this point. Bobbleheads ONLY get you to 11 if you are already maxed, they do not "bank" a special point for later.
TLDR: Bobbleheads boost your special stat to 11 ONLY if you are already at 10 when you pick them up, otherwise they simply boost it one stat point and you are UNABLE to manually raise it to 11 later.

The limiting of respawning is very very welcome. Right now the respawn rate is ridiculously high. I had reached that robot race town and killed all raiders and had to leave because a settlement was under attack and then decided to go finish the forge factory, came back to the robot race town and it was overrun with raiders again and all loot had respawned Shocked . I was like "whuh".

On the other hand, I don't mind respawning if it takes a while. They changed the way the game levels making it more interesting to revisit locations. Before, the respawned enemies were the same level as they were when you first went there. So say you went there as a level 1, they were weak as shit. Go back after you've reached level 40 and the enemies have levelled too. Some don't like this but it does give you a reason to go back.

Hardly. That just illustrates how Bethesda's view of the Fallout world is completely different form the original games. Which is the point of that post.

Places like Vault City exist. It's been 200 years. Why is Diamond City pretty much Megaton 2.0?

Are the people in the East Coast just lazy squatters?

Bethesda is treating things like the Great War happened 10-20 years ago and people are just now getting back on their feet having moved back into areas where radiation was so high a few years ago that it was impossible to settle there but now that it's cleared up a bit it is time to rebuild.

Though I suppose that's pretty much what the Synths are. Gen 1-2 are sort of stretching it because Fallout tech is supposed to be huge and clunky. To make a synth that means the Institute went with semiconductors and they're running Pentiums and what not because now they have microcomputers.

Basically Todd just wants to make his Terminator games again but couldn't get the license or something. No one enjoyed your Terminator games Todd. I bought the 2nd one way back in the day, it gave me a headache. Never finished it.

Fallout is not the same setting as the apocalyptic world of The Terminator.

The institute seems to have escaped the fallout. Hence their technology didn't get that much of a set back. That may make it a bit more reasonable.
