no - if you read the post further that mathewhateverhisnameis says that it does not run many 2.0+ features, meaning you cant run videos that use the better 2.0 format (avs or something?) and also you can not run 2.0 games yet (they think next version will allow this)
very exciting news, but NO, no gta yet.

homebrew in the sense than the 2.0 eboot loader runs homebrew on 2.0, stuff like doom and other apps. it just doesn't run the homebrew WE want, like umd loaders

Edit: What about this? Can someone try it?
2.6 Crack For 1.5 Users. [UTE]
Well, I recently got my PSP[ firmware V. 1.50] and I've been living it up with all the free games I could possibly want, but I know that my fellow 1.5 PSP gamers feel a little bit inferior to those who upgraded to 2.6 and are enjoying the full functionality of their PSP. With the new 2.6, you could could view RSS feeds, surf the internet on your web-browser, listen to music and watch movies in WMA format! But with the new update, you wouldn't be able to play homebrew games and run ISOs off your memory stick... or can you? I've taken Sony's 2.6 Version update and recompiled it so that now you can enjoy the new functions and have homebrew apps and games as well! Now you can play newly released games such as Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and Socom right off your memory stick along with all the other ISOs you must have. This has already been tested by me =) and I can say that it works great. It feels as if I still have firmware V. 1.5 but with all the added enhancements of 2.6!
Directions for installing the cracked firmware.
1. Prepare to save the update data on Memory Stick Duo™ media using one of the following methods:
-Connect the PSP™ system to the PC using a commercially available USB cable
-Connect a commercially available Memory Stick USB Reader/Writer to the PC
-Use the Memory Stick slot on the PC
2. Create a folder for the update data on the Memory Stick Duo™ media.
Using your PC/MAC, create a folder named "PSP" on the Memory Stick Duo™ media. Within the "PSP" folder, create a folder named "GAME". Within the "GAME" folder, create a folder named "UPDATE". (Folder names are not case-sensitive.)
3. Download and unzip the update data that I've provided [http://rapidshare.de/files/8325780/EBOOT.PBP.html] and save it in the "UPDATE" folder created in step 2.
4. Insert the Memory Stick Duo™ media containing the update data in the PSP™ system.
5. Start the update data.
3. Confirm that the update was successful.
After the update has been completed, select "System Settings" under from the home menu, and then select "System Information". If the System Software field displays the version number of the update, the update was successful.
-> I AM NOT RESPONSiBLE FOR DAMAGES THAT MAY OCCUR.THIS HAS BEEN TESTED BY [UTE] AND IS IN DEVELOPMENT.<-
THE FIRMWARE CAN BE DOWNLOADED HERE: http://rapidshare.de/files/8325780/EBOOT.PBP.html
