Good news is this is a PC release after all, so I'm pretty sure mods with different armors are only a matter of time - guvna can still hope Razz

Ohh that's very disapointing but at least his earlier armor looks nice too. I'm sure their is probably heaps of good looking armor and gear anyway. Japan doesn't do western style fantasy much but when they do damn is it good.

How moddable is MT Framework? I don't remember any major mods for games like Resi 5.. or any mods at all for the likes of Lost Planet.

Nor do I. I've always wanted a mod for Lost Planet's enormous reticle, never happened. Sad

Don't think we'll see anything that needs exporting and importing. The best we'll get will probably be textures and cheat engine tables that does more than just "cheat".

Few concerned Arisens on and off the record asked me if everything's a-okay with DDDA since we've gone dead silent after the initial announcement.

We're intentionally in a 'quiet period' at the moment, but I wanted to reassure everyone that things are shaping up rather nicely that will make Itsuno & Co. proud of his baby.

To whet your appetite, we'll start sharing information in a few weeks' time including PC-specific features, system requirements, epic 60fps+ and/or 4K footage, and more.

We've also fought really hard to stuff in as much feature and content as possible while still offering it at a fair price. But I know fans want more. Moar! More is always better. But we've already stuffed all previously released DLCs into the base game so I have no more DLC to give. What is a shriveled morsel of bacon to do?

But fret not, my fellow Arisens. As a huge fan of Dragon's Dogma myself, pre-order incentives we've concocted I *think* will bring smiles to DD fans and newcomers alike. I humbly ask you to not tase or eat me if I fall short.

Bacon out

Not good enough, anyone with a brain know the real reason why they were there for consoles, there should be no reason for it to be there anymore. The game's sale cycle on consoles ended already, no need to sugar coat it just to make the peasants feel better.

Plus there's never guarantee that modders could fix anything. Its MT Framework and so long after initial release, I expect at least 60fps, proper resolutions, and no console bullshit. Anything less is far below par and shouldn't be accepted.

Unfortunately when it comes to porting jobs, the reality is so harsh these days that even such essential aspects that should be the ABC somehow become news/selling points. Razz Sad

I'll be a fully happy panda if among the 'PC-specific features', they also include the mythological beast (for the Japanese developers) called proper mouse controls xD. The engine is perfectly capable of providing that, but what do we know, men can only hope.

Well I have a controller so Very Happy Mouse controls would be nice but understandably not all console games are designed with mouse control, I could let that slide sometimes. But the letterbox is just them lowering the resolution, that should be fixable without having to redo much. I mean it really shouldn't be hard at all, it's impossible excuse that. Even 30fps lock I could understand if it is tied to the speed, which some games do (for good or bad reasons), letterbox is not tied to anything.

+ Infor from neogaf

In addition to KB+M, the game will have both XInput and DirectInput support right out of the box.

About the seamless change between KB+M and controller.
Short answer is 'yes.'
Game accepts input from both device types simultaneously. A hybrid device such as the Steam Controller also works where the right track pad can be configured in mouse-look/trackball mode.

We'll have more info to share in the early part of December. Wink

This was so awesome in TW3, I hope more games will allow it going forward.

Can't fix the models nor the textures. Now that this is in 1080p, the low fidelity is really apparent. Not that I care too much about it. Hopefully we can at least mod the textures.

dear god, please tell me they wont do that letterboxing, that is what put me off playing the game on console... could only stick it for an hour tops, then i would ignore the game for weeks till i forgot about the letterboxing

Yeah I hear you, it doesn't bother me too much, but sometimes it's just very... vintage Very Happy
Still, better than nothing, I'm just happy that we have the chance to play it without waiting ages for the various emo-lators.

We shall fix the fixable and beyond!

It definintely looks like shit. A bit hidden on console because it was a blurry mess running at 15-25 FPS Laughing

I do expect there to be a modding scene as far as the game allows. It's one of those games that tends to draw modders. Sadly, we'll probably not see more than texture replacements etc.

Looks very much like Dragon Age: Origins both in model detail and textures; this means passable graphics for me.

You should be able to achieve 4K/60FPS or 1440/144fps levels provided you have a capable, late model GPU. We'll publish system reqs along with other PC-specific info somewhere around Dec. 3rd.

About the graphics in the video:
wbacon wrote:
That's an unfortunate result of YouTube compression, or texture resolution potentially set to 'normal' or 'low.' Hard to say as the footage definitely took its toll due to YouTube video compression.

For comparison's sake, here's a cleaner look at the cape which looks horrible in the video:

Some bonus shots:

While textures won't compare to current gen titles built from the ground up, the assets in DDDA PC will look better than past gen console versions since they're original, uncompressed assets.

The requirements are low, which is good. Not like the unoptimized AND shitty looking games we've been getting this generation.
