|
 |
OK Guys, i now that i will cost you at least a 20 bucks, but it works without even removing your optical Drives!!!!
Buy you an IDE/Raid Controller with SiliconImage 0680 Chipset and install your Optical Drives on that controller.
All Starforce Games and Stubbs are woriking without SFcure/SFnightmare or remove you drives!!!!
An that all for less than 20 Bucks, what do you want??
A good Solutions for Starforce for 1 year or longer and its easy mount with DT4 reboot and play!!!!!

Good for optical drives:
Cards based on silicon image chipset
Cards based ITE chipset
The controller included in the southbridge/chipset on your mainbord.
what do they mean with this The controller included in the southbridge/chipset on your mainbord.
i see this on in a webshop in holland.
Sunsway/ST Lab PCI ATA133 2P , Silicon Image chip
Does this one also support dvd-players and such.

Scyphe, you're joking, right? We went from buying USB adapters,to PCI IDE controllers, and now motherboards?
jaapie18 - for you to have a RAID array (which is the purpose of the PCI IDE controllers that support RAID) there are 2 ways: there are onboard integrated solutions and there are addon cards. The chip that manages RAID arrays are often the same in both solutions, for example in the old nForce 2 motherboards there was IDE RAID done by IT8212 chip, the same that I have in my PCI IDE controller. You can look at this matter the same way with sound cards, video cards...there are crappy integrated solutions and there are more efficient addon cards (but that depends on the chip used). I have an ITE 8212 based PCI ATA controller and it seems it doesn't support optical drives (the card's bios doesn't support ATAPI devices, maybe they fixed it in later versions). My advice to you : buy an IDE to USB bridge,I did, it's more convenient, supports hot swap etc. The addon controller solution is for people who allready have it.

SF3 is indeed a pain in the ass ! But I am one of the lucky one . So far I had no problems with sf3 games I only use starforce /disable node etcc and run game ! The strange thing is that my co-worker has almost the same rigg as I exept his soundcard
I use SB live2 and he onboard .

I've even unplugged my power cables to the cd/dvd drives and still nohtin (except for som strange reason my puter reboots itself)
In device Manager..
under IDE/ATAPI Controllers I have..
'nVidia Nforce4 ADMA Controler' which is the SATA hdrives
'nVidia nForce4 Parrallel ATA Controler' which is the cdburner and dvd burner

lol Quazzie, you are missing the point. The point, is that there are some IDE conrollers there (which support RAID, though RAID has nothing to do with the 'solution), that you can connect your IDE optical drives to, and not care about SF.

Is it a common ide/raid controller, or is it with Silicon Chipset?
Could you tell me where you bought it?

Yes thats how i got all my starforce games to work, image must be copied to standard IDE harddrive. A fix should be in the next version of Daemon tools
