As i have discovered, the only way for me tor run this game is this:
Uninstall DT4, reboot, install DT4, mount dvd, emulation all options ON and then play.
But the game crashes when i get a "question screen" like when drinking water to save then the game asks do i want to save, but i cant select my option, evrithing like works, but mouse dosnt move, and i can't move my selection with arrow keys. And just like that after death...

And i had my optical drive unplugged all the time. And now i have to do that uninstalling, rebooting and installing all over again if I want to play, but it works... until u save or die.. Confused

Hi all.
I have Epox 8RDA3+ and there is Sata Constroller Sil 3112
And I have this configuration
IDE 1:Nec DVD_RW ND-3540A - Master
IDE 2:Teac W540E - Master
SATA Sil 3112
Chanel 0 - HDD 1
Chanel 1 - HDD 2
And I made that,
I just disable "IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers" disable in Device Manger
There was NVIDIA nForce2 ATA Controller (2.6)
Example if you have 1 HDD and 1 CD-ROM
And each on the separated IDE then if you have in Device manager Primary .............. Controller
Secondary ..... controller then just disable the controller on which you have your cd-rom.

I did that...i got nforc4,but when starforce cheking disk my pc goes for reboot

try install the nForce4 Drivers dont unplug anything dont use even sfn just load POP with DT4 (All Options Enabled) also try uninstalling the game and reinstalling the game... it worked for me that why

Jeeeeeez Im totallly frustrated after I tried EVERYTHING and nothing works I still get the freaking error to insert the disc into another driver. I used all the cleaning, disabling programs for starforce and I have DT4 with all options enabled, still it does not work! Somebody help!

whats the problem ppl?
if its asking for another drive, all you have to do its just rename your virtual drive in regedit and thats it.
im runing ALL games with dt4 only.
just go:
start->run->regedit->HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->system->mounted_devices
found your virtual drive in the list and rename it,like that:
\DosDevices\H.hiden:
play the games
but remember to do the same every time you restart the system, delete old renamed drive and rename the new one in list

Err, so if my virtual drive is L i should rename it to \DosDevices\L.hiden: ?

You might have to disconnect your IDE optical drives as I had to to get POP TTT to work.

Running all the usual Registry disabling stuff does not work for me.

I suspect the 4 boot time drivers that StarForce installs detects your optical drive long before you can run a program to disable them. Even disabling them in Device Manager and rebooting this way does not work. The drivers 'see' your optical drives before XP can disable them. Just my guess what is going on.

So you go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices
you look for your virtual drive(you should only use one),mine is E:
so I look for the
\DosDevices\E: > Right Mouse button on it > rename and then put .hidden behind the E but before the :
so it looks like
\DosDevices\E.hidden:
actually I don't think it matter what you type behind the . you just gotta rename it

My system reboots when I try to unplug the IDE drives manually, SFN doesn't work for me, and using DT4 without any software also fails bigtime. What should I do? I'm going crazy here, I tried all the possible things, but nothing seems to work!

that doesn't seem to help... i unplugged the devices when the system was off, but still, no luck for me... i found out that when i unplug my lg cd/dvd writer it reboots, and when it's plugged it asks for cd, but I have another drive, and unplugging it doesn't seem to make any difference...... I think that starforce ditected it at the beginning and now when i unplug it the protection knows that something is missing and just reboots... just my guess...

PostPosted: Sun, 4th Dec 2005 19:20    Post subject: POP key
When I entered the key, it says: "The Disc Key you entered does not correspond to the disc in the drive. Make sure you use the correct Disc Key."
And if i enter any other random key, which really doesnt work, it says:"The Key you entered is wrong or mistyped. Enter a valid key, and try again."
So the firs should be working. And i unplugged the ide drivers.
Any suggestion?

I went to device manager and disabled my cd drives. I tried running and it didnt work.

I have dt4, tried disable node and disable cd and in starforce nightmare. I exit starforce nightmare before trying to run the pop shortcut and it doesn't work.

I then shut down computer removed power to cd drives rebooted and it worked.

I suppose it would not be hard for starforce protection to check with the bios about what drives you have installed instead of asking windows. Giving no power to your drives means there are no drives installed as far as the bios and windows are concerned. However Starforce nightmare hides the drives from windows and if starforce protection bypasses windows and asks the bios if drives are installed directly, then bios will say there are drives installed even though as far as windows is concerned there are none.
At least that's what I assume that is happening, I really don't know.

IF u guys are getting errors I suggest you use one of these steps:
_delete SF drivers(with the official removal tool which can be found @ gcw
_re-install DT4
_uninstall sfcure
_have SP2 installed
Or call tech support

Guys like Sprite666, try moving your game image to a different HD. There's some conflict with DT4+Sforce+SATA or raid drives.

Do you have a HDD on a parallel IDE channel? Try moving the game image and mounting it from there.
