regarding the reviewer wrote:
It's a fact. Before he opted to hide his Steam account, you could see he only had limited game time in a number of games he had submitted to PCG for review. For me this has left me sceptical of any of his reviews since. Of course I can no longer prove this as I mentioned before he has chosen to hide his account from public view (ultrabrilliant for those that are interested.

Also, HD7890? huh? Confused

IMO, it deserves at least an 7.5, even an 8. No wonder the reviewer hid his steam account. The game is really huge, I´m only at 20% and played like 25-30 hours. You can´t review the game unless you put at least 20 hours into it, and even then you won´t be able to visit the other islands aside from the main one.

I´ll repost the 4k pics in case nobody saw them in the previous page

Game runs fine. All max. At 1080p - 60fps smooth. Very Happy
At 1440p - ~45-55fps.

Although it looks nothing special.

Hmm...I have a better CPU and the same card. I can't keep 60 fps if shadows are on very high or if SMAA 2TX is enabled.

Just looking at JC2 Steam page, it's pretty sad how they improved barely anything in JC3 after 5 years. Neither graphics or features.
Only the explosion look pretty sexy now. Seems 70% of the dev time went to that feature.

Yet the huge amount of 23,253 (94%) reviews are positive. Thats not too bad. Let's see how JC3 will do.

Performance seems to be nice, just had to drop the shadows to medium to stop the drops to 45's.
Rest I kept on what the game had as default. Was just after a quick impression (aka: look to see if they screwed up or not )

I just realized they kept one of the most annoying things from JC2 - having to hunt around for the remaining objects to destroy before a settlement is conquered. I just got done flying around a town trying to find what I was missing before giving up.

I ended up figuring it out, there were some warning beacons and I thought they could only be disabled to prevent reinforcements. Turns out it was a timed event where I had to disable all four within a minute.

I played another hour and FPS is atrocious in some areas. There's a big naval base early in the game and I was constantly dropping below 30 fps during explosions. I hope they patch this or it's fixed in tomorrow's Nvidia driver. I'm starting to think Avalanche's U.S. studio is nowhere near as good as their Swedish studio when it comes to optimization.

Yeah, it gives you an option to play in offline mode... yet continually interrupts you because it's still trying to connect.

Some screenshots, keeps crashing here so yeah for a first game from this new US based Avalanche studio it's not too great and apparently all platforms suffer from performance and crash issues so a (new) patch is needed. Very Happy
(Or two, or three. Razz )

EDIT: Kinda reflects in the numerous negative Steam reviews already available for the game.

Ugly, jumping fps, driving bad, shooting bad, enemies are worse than jc2.
Offline mode so the played time counter doesn't go over 2h. Wait for 1-2 patches and refund.

Solved the crash problem, you have unlimited rockets at this first part of the game but spamming them will inevitably cause the game to crash, so yeah try not to make stuff to explode, in this game?

And now there's just the "small" issue with very frequent framerate drops, yeah still going to need that patch. Very Happy

More screens. Very Happy

Yeah if that first car sequence is how driving will be that's not going to be fun at all. Very Happy

Can you change the language in the game?
I saw a steam thread where a user complained that it's forcing the game language somehow.

One annoying problem I have with the game right now are shadows flickering. If I pause the game for a second they stop but start again shortly. Hopefully it's an Nvidia thing that can be fixed with the game ready drivers.
