I didn't even realise you could get that as a settlement. I never went back there after helping Dan. That's pretty much how I wanted settlements to work though (albeit a tad small): some nice high concrete walls with a single entry point, nice and defensible. Plus none of this ramshackle hut shit. I hate the ghetto nature of the build objects they gave you. You can build laser weapons, repair/maintain power armour, construct generators, water purifiers, etc., but the best you can manage for a house is to slap together some old shitty bits of timber and rusty corrugated iron?

@DCB Should use the SSEx Mod and Homeworks, which adds a ton of objects, especially pre-war stuff. For complete pre-war housing, that's not possible yet without the CK.

Yeah presumably it will be next year before the sort of thing I want is possible. It will likely require custom meshes, amongst other things. But I'm pretty much done with it now. Main plot quest is done, no reason to go back to it until some DLC turns up and the toolset is out.

Is this another "beta" update or an official one?

Probably updated silently or you need to opt in for beta branch.

Probably not possible without the GECK. As there is no alternative yet besides the Cheattables.

@3E74 There's only a mod that reduces the red-zone-limit, effectively making overlapping possible. A page ago I think.

I installed the update but I fail to see any difference in the performance and even if I'm not imagining things the game runs worse for me after the update, lol.My initial thought was to wait for the official updates and I think after this I will stick to it.

They're massive retards for not making these things obvious while in game.
One buildable option could have been a projector/TV station that plays building tutorial movies. It beats that blank screen TVs have. |
ARE YOU CRAZY?
useful stuff ingame? please

Hah, never tried that, but makes sense I guess, they attach to pretty much anything. One thing I did do was put those L-shaped wall lights (the next one in the list after those hanging bulbs) on the each of the large power poles/towers. They have a large transformer (the big cylindrical part) that you can snap two or three lights onto quite nicely. I dunno why they didn't make proper street lights or something though. So many missed opportunities in the building stuff.

Mods will fix it...in 2016. I'm sure there will be all sorts of crazy shit possible in a few months. The Sims with rocket launchers and mutants.
