I like these Far Cry Reskins. I always get a couple hours of fun out of them, but the last one of the official series that I actually played to end was Far Cry 2.
3 I stopped on the second island, 4 I stopped... somewhere. About 20-30 hours in I guess. This one will not be any different.
BUT I finished Blood Dragon because it was bloody brilliant. And Blood Dragon is why I like their yearly Reskins, by pure chance we might get something equally awesome in one of the future renditions again.
Not really, you light a pyre/camp fire now. Sure you don't climb anything or so... but the result is the same: you light it and you get to 'unfog' the area + fast travel.
To me that sounds pretty much the same as their tower mechanic. I do agree... I expected something more out there as a solution.

Map doesn't look too big, although I guess it might not be entirely accurate to compare against this paper map, could be a larger scale in the actual game after all.
Oh and wow pre-order and get a dog chew bone to smash primitive cavemen with.
(Why is all DLC detailed and all but ready before the actual game is out, guess that's just how it is these days.)

The whole: it's the same thing they always do... well fuck yeah that is criticism on Ubi... but that is also related to what we see on the video and the game.

While better than Conviction(hardly an achievement), it's still a pile of burning manure.
Now I'm really curious about what kind of drugs you have been taking Blacklist isn't the best Splinter Cell game to date only because of the existence of the masterpiece that is Chaos Theory.
An authentic ice age setting would be interesting, but it's ubisoft, so it's more likely we get a tranny caveman, a black caveman, and an emancipated cavewoman with a job.

All I can say is that the discrepancy in terms of mere sensations between seeing the cinematic trailers here (officially vertically sliced) and seeing actual gameplay, was immense. Because it's clear that Ubi aren't even trying anymore at this point, they expect us to believe to their own meme, the definition of insanity.
But what do they care when with the least amount of effort they can still make millions. The Creeds and the Crys go hand in hand now, just like the Doodies.
There's nothing to do, if we want this to change, the first (and only) step is to stop buying their games. (I'm doing my part with zero AAA nuUbi games owned on Steam, but that's probably too much )
The side-projects and UbiArt ones on the other hand, those are another story, since usually they're the result of interesting ideas/mechanics and the target audience is a more mature one.
I wouldn't even be as annoyed if they kept their copy/pasting restricted in one franchise. Hell, we see most devs do it... the maddening fact is that most of their IP's goes for the same gameplay.
Sadly, it earns and saves them millions so I can't see them stopping that crappy way of making games.
I'll end up playing the game... but so far their newer triple A's have me play for an hour or three the max before I get to the part where it feels like I've done it before. Not just somewhat... but actually been doing the exact same thing, just with a different skin.
Playing as a caveman just doesn't interest me though... at least give me a gun and throw in some time travel and send me back to prehistoric times. Spears, bone clubs, and shitty bows and arrows, not even modern compound bows.. well, maybe there's more to the game that I don't know about yet. Which is more than likely.. but seriously.. a fucking caveman.
