My brother comes to me today and says he has a friend that got a new PSP and doesn't need his old one, wants to give it to him. One problem, the idiot super glued the joystick/gamepad (don't know what the PSP uses). Why he did this, simply beyond me to figure out. He says it still works and seeing as how he bought it when they first came out he probably has an older firmware so it's worth looking at. If only the joystick is glued (super glued that is) anyone have any clever ideas on how to remove and clean it without destroying the PSP?

lol, best of luck. I guess you'll need brute force for this?...

Try using an acetone-base nail polish remover, this will weaken the glue. Be carefull not to get it into the electronics of the psp tho.

Bit of a pot-luck thing tho Wink

Totally agree, soak a quetip (cotton bud) in some nail polish remover and carefully clean the area thats glued, should work well. You can also buy new "nubs" for your PSP (assuming it is the analouge stick your talking about) so this could also be a help.

Suppose to look at it tonight and see how bad and where.

As for how he got the glue on there in the first place, I have no clue. Do they sell porn for the PSP? Maybe he pulled an Apple Pie II and reached for the wrong stuff!?!? All I can say, the IDIOT.

My brothers friend is someone I might want to get to know. Sounds like one of those guys that is constantly turning over hardware.
