Great, might play this a bit again after Grim Dawn, and before The Division. Very Happy

Probably a stupid question: is there a way to reduce the zoom level? Confused
Because IMO the camera is too low and I would prefer something like Torchlight or Grim Dawn.

Another update was released, guess the expansion content is live now?

EDIT: Might give it a try, I know I'm just going to get disconnected shortly but hopefully I can get some skills reset or do something before I'm kicked. Razz

EDIT: Well it's out but the countdown in-game still shows 2 hours and 15 minutes before the servers become available. Razz

Was looking forward to this but now GD occupies all of my spare time. I hope once I do get around to playing it they won't have nerfed all the fun stuff into oblivion already.

The ascendancy labyrinth is pretty tough. I just finished the normal one and it took me a few tries.

You certainly can't just brute force most of the mechanics. A movement skill and speed flask are pretty much essential for most of the traps.

The traps aint that big of a problem. The boss is though. He is 1shotting 5-6k health players like its nothing, even through pots Very Happy. Needs abit of adjustments, and 1-2 checkpoints for when you either have a dc or the lab layout is bugged, so you wont have to REDO the whole shit again

I don't think he can 1 shot players with 5-6k, that barrage can kill you if hit by all the projectiles, but other than that he's just a normal heavy hitter. My problem with the last fight was the odd performance I had. The game kept freezing every few seconds and it almost got me killed.

The labyrinth is too long (if you want some actual rewards out of it) and without checkpoints anything that goes wrong makes the time spend there a waste. I do get that this expansion wants to be roguelikish, but this isn't the best game for that.

I started a new character yesterday, following NeverSinks Tornado archer guide.

While the game sure is fun, i miss and dislike many things after playing Grim Dawn.
For example
- the combat flow is not really there. In GD you would cancel your action if you moved your character. Here you have to wait for the animation to end. Feels rather clunky to me.
- The inventory is soo small compared to GD, and also no Sort-button? Embarassed
- I'm using a lootfilter, but it still works rather bad: Useful dropped items disappear after a few seconds, and then i am forced to activate the "show all loot"-button again, which doesn't make it easier with all the crap whites. This was really well done in GD: you had a button you can press that would just show items above a prefered quality level.
- In GD everyone had his own loot. In PoE only a few items are tagged to oneself. For the other items only the fastest ninja looter wins.

It's still a very nice game, especially thanks to the massive passive-skill tree and the many active skills that can be found. But from the gameplay flow GD is so much better.

bob theres an option for grp loot. Its called "item allocation" There is short/normal and permanent allocation meaning that you wont have to compete with others in clicking the item first if its set to perma allocation Very Happy And this clunky feeling goes away once your character reaches 50-60. The game feels tedious in the beginning but it gets so much better when you are further down the line with your passives and gear.

Yea i have that activated. But does that work for ALL dropped items?
It seems blue items for example can still be taken by others.

White/Blues are FFA , but no one usually gives a fk about them. If a blue 6 socket drops however its different, it will be allocated to someone. So you dont REALLY miss out on good stuff.

You can have loot always showing(press Z or enable it in the options). NeverSink's filter for example, will show basically all items up to like act 3, so don't worry about whites showing if you're using that one.

Path of Exile has the best loot filtering system in any game since it's so customizable with sounds and everything.

And yeah, the combat doesn't shine until you start linking your skills/finishing your build. Though, personally I enjoy even just running around with an unlinked generic levelling skill like Freezing Pulse.

there are a few factors that play into the allocation: rarity, sockets, links and item level if i remember right

yet another MINOR patch (yup minor) which puts D3 patching system to donkey level. Free game vs billions of bucks. You don't need to have billions of dollaritos to make best aRPG game. You just need to love your community, listen to them, bring drastically new content time to time and u will be remembered.

I am kinda more excited about the optimization, than the actual new features in the game. Very Happy

This update doesn't just add new content - it contains some significant technical improvements. Game assets are now loaded in the background as you play, making loading screens faster. You can now load to the login screen in less than a second on an SSD hard drive (two seconds on a non-SSD).

Everyone who played the game knows how slowly it loaded to the login screen, which was such a pain in the ass.
