After having Sky for a year and generally it's okay, I was wanting to keep the package I had but the price was being hiked up. I've not knocked Sky on the head. Too expensive. So after talking to a buddy of mine, he suggested I can get a chipped Sky box. I've done a little searching on the net and Dreambox keeps coming up.
Does anyone know anything about these boxes ? Are there others that I don't know about and if so can someone point me in the right direction please. Ideally I'd like all channels. Not really bothered about the sports channels or movies but if they're there, it's a nice bonus. HD is a must though.
Thanks in advance.

im not into hacked cards or boxes or anything but i use an online streaming service.
because i watch mostly sports (but there are also some docu and movie channels) i choose that service. i pay 5 euros every month and get free access to those (german) sky channels and also some others (btsports, eurosport). it's in HD and most of the time lag free. there must be something like this for sky UK or where ever you are from.
to watch it you can either you kodi from pc>tv, or kodi on firestick>tv, or like i do it iptv app on tv and watch the streams directly on your smart tv without any need of hardware. but your tv needs to supports the right codecs for this. it does not work on a friends smart tv like this.

depends on the country, but sky started pairing smartcards to their receivers. old cards will be forced to exchanged and 3rd party receivers are useless now
just quit your contract, they will call you short before it expires and offer nice conditions

You can't get HD (bar setanta and BT sports) other than that as long as you have a decent server card sharing works OK, but its not perfect

There is no chipped boxes that was a thing of the past.
If you want UK Sly you can get a box like Zgemma and you then just need a line provider to offer you the sub for Sly looking at about £50-60 for a year this wont include hd channels but you get everything else.
Now if you want HD you can get this via VM cable Zgemma do a box for this as well you again just need a line provider but cables ones do cost more so you would be looking at about £90 a year.
Both are still so cheap 1 month of legit service from either providers costs more then a year using these methods but there is a risky the line server can go down so it's better to pay for shorter times like say 3-6 month.

Why pay a package over 100 pounds per month when you can get it all free on the internet?
The only downside sometimes is picture quality but there still watchable.
Andriod boxes seem good too.
Ryzen 5 3600 cpu@3.60 Mhz.
hyper x 32 gb ddr 4 memory.
Msi Carbon gaming pro ac motherboard.
Evga 600 psu.
Msi Armour rx 8 gb 5700 Graphic card.
Ps4 Standard 500gb.
Lg 4k 42 inch tv.
Oculus Quest 2.

I use a VU+ Duo2 box. £60 12 months sub but as said no paid HD channels.
Works perfectly once setup correctly, which is a bitch and a bit of a learning curve.
Mgcamd is the way to go not cccam.
