Heh seems this uses the Source engine, feedback seems OK so far but there's not really much available since the game was just released. Smile

This is not an episodic game. This is the first game of a trilogy. The sequel is set for ~ Summer 2015. The base price of this game will be $19.99...

Approximately 5-8 hours depending on your play style, and that is one play through. Deciding to play again but choosing different options and doing things differently creates new outcomes, so it's hard to say exactly how much time you get out of it beyond the 5-8 hour initial play through.

Actually seems pretty interesting... Maybe not "Good" or "Amazing", but more creativity than the usual.

I'm tempted give it a burl, looks like the cheesy version of Mass Effect, only without the action part Razz

I would really love to like this game. I like the concept a lot.

But...

The amount of crashes I get is too much to make it playable for me.

And I'm not talking about random crashes, but game stopping crashes.

Trying to avoid some crashes can be a game on its own.

Save, crash, reload, do something different... Maybe progress a little, repeat, crash again etc...

Quick load also very ofter produces the crash. Try experimenting with dialogue options and then try something else. Yeah... crash...

And the inventory system is the biggest culprit. In some sections of the game, just trying to go to the inventory and exiting will always produce a crash.

Yeah, try removing your backpack and then go back to inventory. Yep, it will crash again on exit.

Switching between VR room and plane, or between fighter sequence and plane, where inventory gets removed/re-equipped very ofter can block the game by crashing, blocking progress completely.

Anyway, I'm fed up with the game,

I do not recommend it. At least until 31-Jan patch is out. And then only if there is scene release of the patch, to make sure that game is still not a mess, before considering spending any money on it.

Yep... that is Kickstarter project with no money poured to quality control. They had just 20 kickstarter volunteers as testers and that's it.

At least developers have officially apologized on Steam forums.

Haven't had any crashes but the other bugs are too much. It would be a pretty great game if it weren't for the bugs.

Tutorial, I kill a few bad guys and suddenly they start spawning constantly. After there are more than 20 guys I find a way out and somehow my injuries transfer out of the tutorial simulation.

Since then I have been losing health, last 2 hours of the game. No way to heal it. My heart and lungs are damaged but I can't heal them.

Various plot and dialog portions don't make sense. As if pieces of them were previously skipped. In general I think their plot/dialog logic has a lot of issues. They tried to create a dynamic story and failed to test all the possibilities.

After one mission I go to mission control and something explodes and just kills me outright. I reload, do the same thing, no explosion this time.

And finally I'm at a point now where I have nothing to do. My objective points to a mission I already did, and I can't talk or interact with anyone so I guess something failed to trigger.

Plus there are a lot of other issues that point to lack of polish and testing, but it's hard to write those down. Just feels very raw.

Anyway, I'll definitely come back to this once they properly patch it, seems interesting aside from the bugs, but it's nothing they shouldn't be able to fix.

I wouldn't call the tutorial mission a bug,it states that if you enter the center platfrom,it will spawn new enemies.

For me though, the only crashes come from alt tabbing back to desktop. Other than that the game has worked nicely with no major game breaking bugs.
Krhm, that was true until I encountered the serious flash back bug in the freefall mission which prevents me from continuing. The devs said it should be fixed this weekend, but apparently not. :/

But I do like the game despite the bugs, lots of potential for the sequels. Smile

I know it said that but I went nowhere near the platform. They just kept on coming and I was downstairs near the exit. Regardless, that's a minor issue.

Not being able to heal heart/lung damage is extremely annoying since I constantly lose health and need to charge up and manually heal every few minutes. And not being able to progress even more so.

Yep, the game is quite rough in its current state, sadly.
Glitches and performance problems aside (barely playable here, despite the very basic graphics..but that will probably get fixed), I found the UI kinda ugly and "messy", especially if you enable subtitles, and the atmosphere seriously lacking, because of the uninteresting generic-looking characters and plot which is simply a collection of gibberish like BearishSun mentioned. Combat is decent-ish, although it's clearly not the focus here.

I really like the concept, but if in a dialogue-based game the story and characters aren't interesting (for me at least), well then I really find hard to jump into the fun train :<

The ongoing 1.1 beta patch should go live today but it will invalidate older saves.
http://steamcommunity.com/games/264240/announcements/detail/1387407716302750899

Quote:

One more day and the patch goes live, and all of your on-going saved games will be wiped.

We apologize for this in advance, but as expressed before it is completely out of our control as the changes we'll be making to the maps are significant.

We’ve nailed every game stopper, made a significant step forward in frame rate improvements for at least middle-range video cards, and made a slew of smaller tweaks here and there to improve the experience as a whole. We want to be sure that when this patch inevitably (and unavoidably) wipes your save games, playing a new game will feel like the first time.

Tomorrow evening, January 16th, between 6-9pm EST, we will be uploading an automatic patch that will invalidate all of your save games EXCEPT for those in which you successfully completed the game...those will always be saved for Game Two.

We encourage everyone to play this version and let us know about your redux experience on the forums, or comment below! We promise a significantly improved experience across the board.

Right now anyone linked into the optional Beta can get access to the latest improvements and fixes, which are all listed here (keeping in mind all save games are invalidated daily while using the optional Beta): http://steamcommunity.com/app/264240/discussions/1/630802344306576674/

Hmm... Maybe I'll give it another spin...

EDIT:
Meh... game is still extremely unstable on my machine.

Interesting enough, it fails to load with reloaded dll, but loads without issues with original dll.

CONSORTIUM: The Tower Prophecy

We are excited to be at the point where we can officially announce our work toward Game Two of the iDGi Trilogyhttp://thetowerprophecy.com/

Currently the Tower Prophecy team is split into two parts: pre-production, which consists of writers and art, and those working on a crowdfunding pitch video.

Check out a recent post from Vidal http://corporate.interdimensionalgames.com/2014/12/22/winter-solstice-2014-and-the-tower-prophecy/(creator of the iDGi-1 satellite) regarding recent developments!

And I'm still pissed off that when the game launched, it had a bug that prevented you from finishing it. You got to the end and it always crashed...patch came out and you were forced to start from the beginning. :/

Haven't felt like playing it through again...
