well i guess i'm going to have to buy a brand new computer to be able to play stuff like this, because i'm not going to break open my laptop to remove the cdrom driver and risk fucking it all up... SF sux

Thomaz this is not really dangerous or hard(if your computer hasn't been sealed off),
just shut down computer, unscrew the screws on the back and take out the side part,then look for your cd/dvd drive(s) and unplug the large cables which look like they are tied up small wires(not multicolored)

lol, you're funny  you really expect me to unscrew my laptop remove or insert the cdrom drive everytime i want tot watch a movie or a play the game?(all my movies are on CD). that's just insane  sadle i don't have one of these good acer laptop where you press 1 button and the drive comes out. i'll survive .i still have to try the thing where the iso is on another hard drive, hope it workd is the other harddrive is an external one.

I get 1 second black screen (rectangle) , but then it goes back to desktop.
Unplugged DVDrom, used starforce nightmare (CD and Node) mount in DT4
Imho, it seems like I circumvented the protection, but another (maybe mobo?gfx card?) problem causes this startup to fail
My poor rig, but good enough
athlon XP 1800 at 1533 mhz
Gforce 3 ti200 128 mb
512 ram
Solution any1 ?
or have the same problem?

My cousin has a dell inspiron notebook and he got the black screen and reboot when using only Dt4. He got the game working by using DT4 (all options enabled) and SFN only Disable CD.
I myself got the game working with DT4 all emulation options enabled and only by disconnencting the IDE cable of my NEC 35XX cd/dvd writer drive. I have another cd-writer on my pc but starforce doesn't seem to recognize that. I have my windows xp on an ata hardisk and i also have a SATA hard. I didn't see any difference mounting the image from any of the harddrives.
It seems that with the NEC 35XX series starforce has a workaround so SFN doen not work for those systems and you have to unplug the IDE cable from the drive, you can do this even when the pc is on and can plug it back in when the pc is on and just go to device manager, righ click, and scan for new hardware change.
If this does not work for you try turning off your pc and unpluggiing the power cord for all the extra drives you have including extra hard disks. DO NOT DO THIS WITH YOU SYSTEM ON AS YOU COULD DAMAGE YOUR HARDWARE. If this works you can start plugging back cords one by one to see the device startforce has problem with.
By the way you would know when the game is gonna work when it is chekcing the drivers
and stops at 1/4 of the way for a while and then moves on. If it just goes instantly to the end you ve got a problem!

u need to check 2 things mate
1)check out readme.txt of the game if the game got support for u card
2)make sure u got the latest drivers of the card...
u can check with dxdiag...

OK
1. You cannot disable the IDE controller that your primary HD is on.
2. Remove all optical drives
3. Make sure antiblaxx is NOT running (on task bar)
4. Mount with DT4 leaving all options default.Install game, install SF protection as required. Reboot when asked.
5. Try playing, if doesnt work. Unmount all drives in DT4. Then remount the image. Try to run again.
6. IF that still doesnt work. Uninstall. Remove all traces of SF with required tools (Search for em) then start at step 4 again.
I got this running by just mounting, reboot when asked. Then i disabled the my optical drive is device manager. I didnt disable the controller, just the drive and it worked. I also didnot use SF nightmare or other such tools. But if you cannot get it working with your optical drives unplugged; you must have a bad ISO or your SOL.
Dont take this the wrong way, but it seem like you dont know alot about computer hardware. For anyone that isnt to savy with hardware needs to remeber. IDE drives are NOT HOT SWAPABLE. Be sure to turn off your computer before you disconnect your drives. My system is SATA and i still always turn off power when removing my drives.
And to answer your last question.
You donot need any optical drives to get an image running. DVD image or CD, it doesnt matter. DT4 will emulate them for you.
Every starforce clone should work with no problems mounted if all your optical drives are unplugged. IF you are using a SATA to IDE converter on your IDE optical drive. Make sure to disable power and not just unplug the IDE-SATA cable. If the converter is still powered and plugged into your SATA control it will hang (Ushally) durring IDE detection on boot. I have not found one SF clone that didnt run on my system with all the optical drives physicaly unpluged.

Mount with DT4 and Disable node/cd/ata with SFN worked for me but i got some little grafic bugs and sound bugs! Sucks hearing the prince screaming in a raw or if he get hit ...

Hay guys..same problems..IN CASE of ReBOOtin..king kong reboot..princ of persia reboot..knight of the tample reboot..I think that we have to find comon spot..maybe its a step of solving problem..for example some thing Pop on ma mind..In da case of ReBOOTin does every body gat SATA or RAID drivers..

every one that tryed Starfucker , star nightmare , and the games didn't worked with them ...
the only way to play this kind of games is to Mount the game in DT4 with all options enabled . and unpluge the CDrom and the DVD rome from the MotherBoard...
u need to open the PC Case and do this manualy .. do not disable it from device manager ...
when you unpluge them from the Mother Board ... every thing will work Smoothly ...
thats what i did ...
if you are trying to play Prince of persia ... beleive me it worth all this work ...

Hey..i did it b 4..i mounted in dt4 disable cd roms from power and cable..didint hooked up from mother board but its same thing..then started again reboot..MA OPINION is that all
of us who got problem with rebootin is that we have something in comon..we have to discover wht..In that ocaison everyone who got rebootin problem, let us know what is theri configuration..ATA..SATA..do they have HD in raid..

Well people, it does work when you disconnect IDE drives. I don't really use them, but it is annoying to open your case to play a fu***** game...!
Although the game is good, and I did save money....
