A good two-hander shouldn't have any major problems with cutting through bone, katana or something would probably slice right through as well but when did you ever see (EDIT: Well I guess heard about would have been a better wording wouldn't it.) a medieval knight with a exotic sword. Very Happy

Whether the same is true when said head is inside a full suite of thick plated mail is a entirely different matter though. Razz
(Some of the later era armors were pretty sturdy, might even have been able to protect from bullets from that time periods cruder firearms although with how fast those developed it wasn't really practical to be bogged down by a what, a 50 or 75+ KG metal encasing slowing you down so you're basically a slow waddling target, breastplates and helmets remained a while longer though protecting the core vitals or how to say.)

I doubt it will be more fun than Chivalry.
And i agree on the decapitating: The ingame movement of the sword is much too slow, to cut off the head clean. If at all, it would just break the enemies neck.
From the video it seems more like the devs are "proud" of the decapitating, instead of making it look real.

This is never gonna work out as you're propably imagining it in your head. Latency/Netcode will be there to shit in your cereal.

Oh and ofc everyone will run around looking downwards like retards because it gives you an advantage with the swing angles.

The swings look kinda of slow to me. I don't know if that is intended for balance reasons.

But then again, I'd rather see these kind of detail in more ambitious games like Single Player RPG.

Decapitations were impossible with proper late medieval beaver. And based on sword and halberd design, this is where the game is set.

It doesn't look too bad. The Motion Blur though ( @3:08 )!

But i can't see a feature (yet), that makes it much different from for example Chivalry. Even the control scheme seems nearly the same.

If I meant War of the Roses I would have wrote it instead, don't you think? This game shares more similarities with Chivalry and I'm not talking strictly about the first-person camera. The combat looks fast paced, quite aggressive and allows for violent one shots like Chivalry did. Even the dueling model is resembling the one in Chivalry but seems to have more animation and a fluidity in movement.

First I've heard about this game.. I am suddenly immensely interested, because it doesn't seem to be a 'hit the guy until he runs out of life bar' - it's 'hit the guy until your attack gets through, and if you hit him in the right place, his head will fly away'.

The devs apparently listened to their 'fans' and improved the armour damage reduction to be more realistic. That, and proper parrying/blocking has been missing from virtually every combat game I can think of.

I can only imagine if this combat system was implemented into a ESO style MMO. Difficult of course, but imagine the possibilities!
