Too many people slated Thomas Jane's Punisher from 2004 but I still think it was fantastic. I loved the character and it felt like a comic book, especially with Travolta's awesome villain hamming it up. Lundgren's 80s Punisher was, well, it was 80s.. so that's <3 too And Stevenson/Warzone was thoroughly entertaining but it just didn't have that Jane/2004 "magic" to me
I'd sorely love to see a Adi Shankar-esque Dirty Laundry series/movie though!

As someone who is allergic to Marvel's productions, I approached this show very carefully keeping expectations realistically low (the fact that my only previous experience with Daredevil was the shocking Ben's 2003 one was not helping at all xD), but to my surprise, I ended up enjoying it.
Not bad really, gritty and (mostly) well directed, with more than decent characterization (first time for Marvel, time to open the champagne ) and acting (Vincent D'Onofrio above all, in my opinion - though Daredevil himself was pretty cool too despite his lame status of ghetto superhero), never too cheesy, and almost free from the typical teenager-friendly glaze.
It still was far from being truly great because it seemed like the writers had dropped the nunchakus at some point, though I appreciated the efforts and as long as the Marvelitis stays out of the picture, I'm on board for the next season!
@Ixirna: I liked the first half of the season but the second half dropped the ball somewhat. It was very weird, usually shows get better during the latter half of their first season.
Atleast we have Punisher in the next season even though it is Josh 'Bro'enthal

Haha yup indeed, that was very noticeable. It wasn't something that annoyed me too much, but the slower pacing and change in the style were definitely evident (the final parts weren't too engaging either). It was kinda like a deflating balloon, though it still managed to stay afloat relatively well all things considered (mostly because I expected nothing to begin with ).
I'm curious to see how The Punisher will be added to the Darehodgepodge, but since he can only bring more action and gore, what could possibly go wrong. A couple of years ago I would've screamed noooo if they had mentioned me Jon headscratching Bernthal, but lately he's been proving to be a decent actor and he's grown on me ..sort of

Bring back black ninja Daredevil if you have absolutely no idea how to make his suit work.
