The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
I recently tried it again. It's as shit as ever. And the problem is not even only the FPS.
It's very glitchy with very glitchy animations - this is not a good game mates.
LOL just wow what in the fuck, really are you seriously not trolling? Animation glitches now is it. What is your system please do tell.

Sure, that's not considered high-end, but it's not bad. And no, not trolling. Animations suck ass, bigtime. Delayed/very badly interpolated. + Not even on highest settings, more like mediumish I get 30 FPS and horrid, absolutely horrid shit input lag.
And my machine can push very nice frames on even new games with decent settings, so it's not the machine.
*Except for 2 people who can seemingly run it okay
3 people actually. I'm not running it maxed out but medium/high and I stay above 40FPS. Occasionally dip below but it's def playable.
Ever play New Order? There's people with identical hardware, one can run it flawlessly while the other is absolutely the opposite. People with the highest end system can't run it as well as someone who is a few notches below.
It's shit optimization at it's finest. Don't see why people keep rallying against Moose about his system being able to handle nor why anyone would think he'd need to lie about it.
I tried it again (all updated) and it still runs like piss compared to other games, pretty unacceptable. Mostly the visuals don't even warrant that performance and makes other poor-performing games look like a joke.
Always the same (winy assed bitchin) its a Beta with everything that entails. If your running it on some ''2 core, 2GB DDR5 piece of shit'' your gonna suffer some...or not if you know how to setup and optimise your pc,. Go brush up on some A+ everyone is having a blast and if it keeps the likes of you away all the merrier. Ide also bet your also using a cracked copy also. MerryXmas everyone else.

lol gtfo crap optimization, that's all, even Arkham Knight runs flawless yet ARK is a bitch, so much for that.
I really wish they would update the game more often...

Concidering how often they patch the game and that they are closing in on their set release date fast...im not so sure if i buy your "its a beta" comment.
Especially since as interactive pointed out

But perhaps it's not fully optimised to the extreme?!?!
The drama after this last patch was delicious. Wild dino's are so much more dangerous now. No more automatic GG when you get a decent carnivore. I don't PvP, so I don't really care about that aspect. But it has become more scary as a survival game.
Not sure if the x3 gathering patch afterwards made that bit all right though. That's the part I was salty about. The whole point of the game for me is that when you get certain dino's, certain parts of the game become easier. Sabers / wolves for chitin / hide farming. Ankylo for metal. Mammoths for wood, etc. That's the point, why you get them in the first place. It being better to get off said dino and chop away with your pickaxe or axe and get significantly more materials that way was silly. You may just as well decide on a dino with high weight, have it follow you around, and transfer what you gather instead...
And no, not buying the beta comment either. It's Alpha
Not that I have any faith this game will get 60fps on any setup on epic on current hardware, even after beta, which is generally where the focus shifts from content to optimization.

Heh yeah it's one thing when it's some ~100 MB binaries update only but when you have several 500 MB - 1 GB updates a week (Sometimes daily.) it can be a bit hard to keep track of changes plus the way they update files causes some strain to the HDD so you get some stuttering and the like, thought I had some memory leak in Blacks Ops 3 yesterday as I played through the campaign but it turned out Steam was just updating this in the background.
(Also causes quite a bit of file fragmentation but that's not too hard to solve plus all in all even with the larger files divided into a few thousand fragments it still doesn't slow down loading times that much though I prefer to keep things neat if at all possible and of course for those with a SSD it's not a issue at all although the constant activity and updating might perhaps kill a few read/writes but it's probably not too bad.)

Ya.......since last posting, performance on the game took a huge fucking dump. Same settings and I can barely break 30FPS now lol
Are some of you people actually comparing the performance in witcher 3 to the performance in ark?
Witcher 3 had more than 1500 people working on it compared to ark, which has a very small team (between 11-50 employes). You really can't compare the 2.
I see this all the time on various forums: "This early access game made by 5 people is shit, witcher3/gta5/etc runs so much better". Some people are clueless and don't understand the amount of manhours put into those AAA games (and into optimizations alone).
I get decent performance out of my old 780, with some tweaks I get around 50 fps with the occasionally dip to 30 and it still looks beatiful. I've tried the shadermodel4 och dx10 override with some tweaks in options and I have reached 80-100 fps but the visuals sure took a beating but for me the gameplay makes up for it so I don't really care how it looks .
right now 42-48 fps looking at jungles and distance is common with game looking pretty. Anywhere else I get 60 and higher, and of course more when at coast looking out that way.
The game is getting much heavier it seems of late with content so its not unexpected if they do not fix or optimize yet over more content. As Glore said though its still far far from being non playable and runs smooth at those fps when running about the world etc.
If it ever drops to the 30's then I can understand why someone wont play it like that, because I guess it would become more of an issue.
