But the second screenshot of yours is a good example of the bad looking graphics.
The carrier textures look of pretty low quality. Also Anistropic Filtering doesn't seem to work on that object.
I really don't get warm with this game. Two more days, then i judge it for myself.
It looks poor because of the jpg compression, it's sharp ingame. But I agree, wait and check for yourself. I tried recording a video with Action! but its quality is even worse than jpg so
Here a few more from skirmish.
Most things in game aren't that detailed but it's not like it's a blocky texture from 2000 or something.
Looks like the design / art team was not that inspired.
All those 3d assets (especially mothership) have no details on them to suggest it's massive size.
Also, look at the 2nd screenshot... Those 2 tiny sand runners look like some mini robots near that "big"... metallic... thing / scrap. Looks like a portion of another big structure / vehicle / ship. But the DETAILS that should show it's size are completely missing. Just Edit -> Transform -> Increase 1000%... (well, not sure how much zoom in is there)
Meh. I already see cons "taglines": game lacks detail and polish.
EDIT
You can easily add the UI to the list of things made by interns.
Some examples:
- Only 5 multiplayer maps.
- AI is dumb like bread, even on Hard.
- Campaign felt like a glorified tutorial for him.
- Even at the later missions you get tips on HOW to win a mission. Like building specific units and placing them at specific spots.
- At some mission he could only reach the enemy with aircrafts. As obvious as it was, the game kept telling him how to reach the enemy.
- Definately not worth 50$.
+ Good soundtrack
+ A few nice gameplay features, like smokescreens.
I am really not sure what those devs did in all those years.
Also looking at the Steam forums of this is extremely funny and rageworthy at the same time. So many retarded fanboys that have excuses for every fucking fault in the game.
I will gladly not buy this game.
Well he says much more positives that you mentioned He stills says its great RTS with great asthetic and soundtrack . but yeah 50bucks is way too much , I just hope they will impove the AI and add skrimish maps
Looks boring to me. Dumb AI, very few maps kills any interest for me. I like playing RTS for Co-op sessions, so those 2 points are essential. Then the lack of faction diversity... its too much like Homeworld, that's more than a decade old. Units look boring. I do like how they strafe and circle around their targets though.
No way this game is worth the asking price with the amount of content it has. The animatics and stuff are nice but that seems to be where all the effort and polish has gone.
// Also can't skip cutscenes.
And Anti Aliasing doesn't seem to work at all. Though it's enabled ingame.
Not even started playing and already am annoyed by this game.
- Can't rebind hotkeys
- Can't skip the countless and so far boring cutscenes
- Game tries to be realistic, yet has units moving through each other
- Enemies have no fucking line of sight to my units on a hill, yet they kept hitting them through the ground while mine did nothing
- No fucking formations? Not even simple ones, by holding right mouse pressed, like in several other RTS games
- Shit performance when several units are fighting with a 970, i5-2500k and all settings maxed. FPS stayed at ~25 fps during one fight in the first mission
Meh.
Would give it a 6/10 at best.

Where did you read that? It's nothing like the awesome classic Westwood RTS games. This is more like SupCom on a much smaller scale and no interesting story so far.

But i will try it tomorrow and then ill see about that. Anyway maybe some of the glitches and the keybinds can be addressed by the patch mentioned above? By the reviews which are mostly very positive, one of the strong points is the story, albeit you already know what is going to happen 100 years after

Meanwhile the people of that generation will call those guys relics, and not move with the times when everything is auto fucking.
most annoying thing is that there is a kind of formation when you order a move on the ground, but I don't know a way to rotate it so they end up facing a certain way
