Miller is the only one even a bit similar to their character in the books. Also, Amos is a balding, bulked up no-bullshit 50 year old. They have him completely wrong in the show.
And I miss some of the finer points as well.
But enough whining from my behalf, let's be happy they at least do sci-fi at all.

I'm glad I stuck with this show, the first couple episodes were boring but the fourth was good. I like that a lot of the sci fi elements are kind of "low tech", such as guns shooting bullets instead of lasers and there's no light speed travel.

Hahah, as someone with exactly the same receding hairline, I'm tempted to make my hair grow just to have that fancy adjustable tuft ready for all the occasions. But then I realize that it's something that would only work well under specific circumstances, generating an endless amount of banter and disgust from pretty much everyone here. The world isn't ready yet for that haircut

Maybe it's just the extreme lack of good scifi shows, but I really like the show. The last two eps have been a bit slow, but hopefully shit will hit the fan soon.

Very slow ep, nothing much happened. I'm worried since they only have 10 eps. I hope the last ep wont end with some out of nowhere cliffhanger.

Of course it will.
I've found the majority of the episodes very slow. Still worth watching for the good parts though.

Yes, but I find I prefer the slow episodes building up to something, than just have action just for the sake of it (as a lot of other shows do). Best part is this doesn't feel like a procedural/case of the week kind of series, which means that I will probably stick with it until it concludes or is cancelled.

I also like the slow pace, but ten eps seems a bit short for this pace.

I like the show but the grumpy political senator lady makes me wish i was deaf. Not only her plot is bad but her acting and voice are both terrible.

That shitty actress does a good job of being the standout shit actor in every show she is in. Her annoying accent, her overly-plastic surgery face, and generally poor acting are an abomination. I don't understand why she keeps getting picked up for shows.
Really enjoying this show. I like all the little details they put in to try to make things seem realistic. IMO the pacing is actually a little bit too fast. There are key plot details that show up and go just as fast within a single episode and it leaves me wondering what happened since they don't devote enough time to certain things. This coupled with that horrible accent that a lot of the actors have and it makes it hard to keep track of occasionally. The CGI is a mixed-bag as well, but I can't complain given it's a scifi channel show. Some of the CGI looks great, and some of it you can barely tell what's going on because they cheaped out and applied a massive blur effect.

I like it too. It's refreshing to have a more sort-of-realistic take on SF, althought I wouldn't mind some technical details being explained a bit better to make it all more immersive. It's strange to see great attention to detail when it comes to some stuff, like gravity affecting the way people develop muscles, but at the same time, some other, very important things are left without a shred of an explanation, even a bullshity, pseudo-sciencey one. Still, it's a good show so far - the intrigue and characters are fun to watch too.

This episode eight was the highlight for me so far, I found it well shot and engaging.
The show has many up and downs, and some of the characters get on my nerves for strange reasons (namely squinty-eyes Holden and Tomwaits Avasarala), but overall it's better than I expected, and never looks cheap which helps. If they don't follow the sudden way of the green pear, I'll stick to it in the future as well.
