We need to know EXACTLY which options were turned on. 45-60 fps is VERY impressive on a 960 if the game was maxed out AND had TressFX turned on.

That's how I meant yes, although as you said I don't know the settings used.
(I assume max with maybe MSAA or SSAA off and probably that hair stuff off too.)



We have textures that could be up to 2048x2048 (2+ GB VRAM requirement for that alone I suspect.) and then we have shadow quality which is likely also 2048x2048 in res at max which is plenty taxing even at lower screen resolutions.

After that comes AO which for all we know at high it could be HDAO and that's very expensive.

Depth of field which again for all we know might be bokeh and that's also very expensive.

Then comes LOD which increases draw calls and all that further hurting performance and VRAM.

Then there's tessellation although I do not know what they tessellate but even if it's just character faces it's still not a cheap effect.

Then we have SSR which is very expensive even at half res reflections or maybe lower still.

Foliage I don't really know what that does, together with AO and possibly MSAA (Especially transparency AA) that's going to really hurt framerate when combined.
(If it's the amount / density of ground vegetation.)

Bloom and vignette doesn't really have much of a FPS hit, motion blur might depending on how many samples it uses.

"PureHair" / TressFX is very, very demanding even if only used on Lara again which I suspect although newer versions also allow for grass and fur with this but I doubt this game uses that.

And then we have MSAA and if that's 4x or even 8x that will cripple performance on slower GPU's even at lower screen resolutions.
(Especially combined with other effects and possibly also transparency AA, might even use SSAA but if it does I suspect the 960 wasn't tested with that enabled since it's just so demanding.)

Oh I have no doubt it will be cracked and once one of these newer Denuvo versions is circumvented other games using it should follow quickly, but it could take weeks or even months if not longer still depending on how complex it is.
(It can be done as seen with earlier Denuvo versions but it takes time and then they update it fixing and improving it and the process is restarted.)

to be fair: it could be way lower cause irc the game uses partly stuff from dx12. in that case asynchronous computing which actual nv cards cant handle as good as the ati pendants. and without win 10 no asynchronous computing cause its part of dx12. it will be kinda interesing to see benchmarks in the next days
