You know you're in for an entertaining review when it starts off like this:

2 seems a bit harsh imo, 5 at least would be more appropiate The gameplay (movement/gunplay) itself is not bad, but it has lots of issues, starting with the pacing, and maps being way too big. Some enemies (like acid wasps and ice spiders) dont make you feel like a badass, quite the opposite, and big enemies tend to appear less than the small ones.
Guns and their alt fire are nice, but you dont have a preview for each alternative (like DMC skill preview for instance), so you have to reload a checkpoint in case you want to see them in action. This leads to an occasional bug that causes you to lose money, and then you can't upgrade shit. Skills like mighty punch feels a bit innacurate. The Shield is useful though. Haven't found the fourth one yet.
In the review build there were also AI bugs (some of them didnt respond at all) and physics, I even got stuck in a few colums, but I'm guessing they should be fixed with the day-1 patch.
from what i played so far,gunplay is fun, rest is ok but bit buggy....still way above Halo : Spartan Assualt/<whatever that other one is called>
series , i just feel whenever well-known review site goes to such a numbers on not"slaughtering ground"-kind of trash its mostly just a hyperbole
but still the biggest problem of this game is that it was forced to be redesigned from Duke game to something else
i guess i will wait for some patches to get rid of the most annoying bugs

Yeah, picking on easy targets is usually their forte, and I suspect this is the case. But in general ignoring everything journo-related is typically a good medicine, it's not that they have credibility or anything like that

The game is so broken cant start dx11 x64 executable always crash, terrbile perfomance, problems with code and u will die so much falling from surface and u wont get pass first boss
Oh men it's rough, it really is. The animations are robocop-like, the repeating one-liners are cheesy as hell, the performance when maxed out is terrible, but the game itself is not the worst thing ever..it's almost like the female equivalent of Hatred..with aliens. Alright for some free brainless pew pew imo.

Speaking of Duke Nukem I noticed the sound the teleporting enemies make is the same teleporter sound from Duke 3D. I wonder what other Duke things they forgot to remove.
And yeah the one liners are shit, it almost makes me glad that Gearbox made them change the game because I can just imagine how lame Interceptor would make Duke sound. Although on the other hand Gearbox could've taken over the script responsibilities...
