AMD has finally released a new driver and it has helped a lot..

- more fps in general
- I can actually set textures to very high now without getting stuttering Very Happy They are still partially stored in RAM but I guess they improved texture streaming\unloading..

However, I'd still say this is a piss poor port (VRAM usage is ridiculous all things considered, some areas are bad fps wise and this can only be fixed by developers..)

1) Lenovo Legion 7 (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3080 16Gb, 32Gb DDR4, SSD 1TB +2TB

2) SFFPC (streaming via Moonlight+ Sunshine)

Thanks Asus, fuck you Denuvo, all is right in the world.

You should also try for Rainbow Six and Batman.

Anyone knows if the nV codes we're getting by selecting "hong kong" on asus website, are regional? I'm thinking to send ngeforce an invoice to prove that i bought the card ( bullshit ), but i got it from a store in my country.

Using the new AMD drivers Geothermal Valley actually now runs better than Soviet Installation Laughing

I got a pretty old PC (cpu\memory)....3770k@4.5 16GB(DDR3 1600), fury (3840, 1120/560) win10 +clockblocker to avoid downclocking issue

The game is installed on HDD(not fast, green series lol).

1920x1080, FXAA

Preset Very High (except AO=ON)

Geothermal Valley map, heavy rain and wind.

I ran from the camp you first get to , then down below through the forest, across the bridge, through the second camp and into the swamp area.I didn't use Survival Instinct . Mind you there were no enemies around this time.

Min 41
Avg 64
Max 88

It was a smooth ride despite very high textures being cached into RAM (max 8+GB usage , that's overall memory usage reported not just the game)

I haven't checked thoroughly Soviet Installation but it seems to run noticeably worse than Geothermal Valley Reaction

finally processed. with very high textures, soviet installation is actually significantly more demanding than geo valley.

https://steamdb.info/app/391220/history/

The game is seeing some activity now on Steam with a number of changes in a short amount of time so a patch could be near.

https://steamdb.info/app/391220/depots/

But going here and sorting by the build version it could be just the Japanese localization of the game though that doesn't mean there's no patch, could be both in a single update. Smile

EDIT: Newest version of the freecam utility.

This confirms my decision to wait for Pascal before purchasing this game (and get a complete edition for cheap in the process). Smile

Heh I agree, if you really want to kill something (In this case the bugs and performance issues with this game.) why not go all out and settle for nothing less than total overkill. Razz

Or so I say but for all I know the game might still have performance issues on this upcoming generation of GPU hardware though it's not very likely.
(Die shrink time so bigger than your usual performance gain plus there's HBM2 too thus reducing any potential bottlenecking while still not being limited to 4GB as with HBM1 along with other improvements.)

EDIT: That and Nixxes / Eidos / Crystal Dynamics might actually fix part of these issue in future patches as well and the extra content offered by the final release of the game might be entertaining too.
(But so far it seems most of it has been pretty meh besides the Baba Yaga side mission, outfits, event cards and some different game modes for expeditions.)

The keys are regional so nothing to worry about, there's one nvidia branch only on steam and it doesn't mention region lock

Not enough that they messed up my redeeming process, now I got an email from nvidia with all the games I redeemed and this is how TR looks like. Contact support they say, so we can ask for proof of purchase, damn fuckers.

No they are not, I successfully redeemed Rainbow6 and season pass with the same S/N afterwards, not to mention Batman before, all in the same day. But not with this one and I don't have a clear explanation on why it happened.

With the new AMD driver I got rid of the stuttering and freezes problems, but the game is still unable to use more than 2.4GB of VRAM and the performance hasn't improved by a lot. I still get drops below 40fps.

Played 7 hours now, finishing up Soviet Installation now - the game is great!

Much more exploration than in TR2013, and it is much more satisfying as well. Scripted sequences are as good as they get (you can hate the style itself, but within the style this is a strong contender).

The game is very good at pacing, breaking the game up in exploring/shooting/scripted events. It never gets boring. I think the team did a really great job with this game. Was worth the buy.

Too bad the combat still is piss easy in this game. Playing on the second hardest difficulty. Might try the hardest one as well, as i got most upgrades anyway now (the required ressources increase on the hardest difficulty).
