So I sold something on ebay couple of days ago and my listing clearly said

And I have just received this lovely message from the person

Basically, I did not include the box because of a size, so I just took everything out of a box and put it in a smaller box. All bags are still unopened.
Am I fucked if that person opens a case? Laughing Laughing Laughing

You needed to communicate here, if you say "new" I'd expect a box could be going to a kid on his bday. You needed to at least say can I package w/o box?

Edit: just noticed you mentioned it.. Ya its their mistake now -> I didn't notice it at first though either.

Well you mentioned it... so normally there's no fault on your part. You can always try to work it out with him.

We will see, I doubt that person will be easy to work with. I'm not sure if yelling things like "You better make things right" are good indicator that everything will go smooth here.

mh reading is hard nowadays

but why no sending in the original box in the first place? its not that huge isnt it? should be around 60x40cm and high less than 10? would have just increased the shipping price. here you pay 6,99 euros for such a package (5kg with 120x60x60)

I don't have big enough box for it. It was just easier to take everything out and put it in much much smaller box...hehe

I offered the person to ship it for $45. Because how much it's going to cost due to size.

New means unopened to some people I guess. But reading helps indeed.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

problem is ur opening line it says un opened, if he makes a complaint, and the rushed employees read your offer, they might come to same conclusion that your add contradicts itself, it cant be unopened and then not come in the original box.

i would be confused to.

That's the big problem. If a box is bigger than let's say 15in by 15in by 6in, the prices almost three time as much. The smaller the box, the cheaper the shipping. Weight is hardly an issue.

Oh well, person this hasn't responded to my shipping cost.

Prizes are fucked indeed with profit-oriented companies but I do understand that every added inch costs them money for less space.

How can "unopened" and not in the original box be a thing? Did you not have to open it to not include the original box?

It is confusing... you're statements are contradicting, even though the second line should trump all clearly indicating the original box is not included.

But really, "unopened" makes it sound like you didn't tamper with it AT ALL. But you clearly did.

Yes, it is indeed contradicting. I would have listed the item under 'NEW - Other', which is an option Smile (and also allows for a further explanation of 'NEW')

Still, it was clearly stated that the original box was not included also, so, lol.

Good luck sorting this one out eBay! Laughing

another problem, don't want to open another new thread for this.

2 weeks ago i sold a game key on ebay. everyting went fine and after a few hours i was getting an email from ebay. they told me that the account from the buyer got hacked and that the buy will be canceled. they gave me back my ebay fees and i quickly redeemed the key for myself, so i don't get a 30 euro loss.

i kept the money on my paypal account until now in case ebay/paypal/thehackedguy want the money back. why isn't the money back on his account by now and how long will it take until it will be gone? i can't see any open cases or anything on my paypal account. what to do. maybe i can keep the money so i don't want to contact him especially after all this "hacked" thing seemed very weird. like he wanted to scam/fool me.

The scammer got scammed.
Cool Face

Under Paypal you can see your recent account activities. Did 30€ already got refunded to him? I though Ebay synchronizes with Paypal in that case and automatically issues a refund between both your Paypal accounts.
If you still have the money, let him open a case on Paypal/Ebay whatever.

Also even if his Ebay account got hacked, the hacker still would need the password for Paypal?

got scammed but then quickly scammed back. no one can scam me son.
i thought so too that is why i was wondering that i still got the money after 2 weeks.
maybe someone in here had a similiar case and can tell me what happend with his case?

no open cases on ebay and none on paypal.
can't even find the listening on ebay because everything got deleted by ebay because of "hacker".

yes i told this to the guy on ebay phone support too. he told me he can't go into it to deep and can't tell me stuff but that it was a legit hack. i still don't believe it but nothing i could do. atleast i could redeem the code for myself quickly so he didn't scammed me completly.

paypal doesnt secure digital trades (means -> ebays buyer protection doesnt apply), in that case even if the scammer who scammed the scammer tries to get his money back -> bad luck for him

Just wanted to sell something now.
Fucking retards restricted my account (forever it seems), that i can't sell anything anymore.

Their reason is, that i "violated against their minimum standards" Confused Laughing
They don't even specify what exactly i violated against.

Trying to get into contact with them now. Their first answer was some automatic shit answer.

If they don't unlock my account again, i'm thinking of consulting my lawyer.
As they say i'm never able to create new accounts again, ever.
