A 650 MB update was released, probably some new content in addition to the usual bug fixes.

EDIT:
http://steamcommunity.com/games/391220/announcements/detail/870689837485835747

Quote:

We have just released the fourth PC patch for Rise of the Tomb Raider, build 1.0.629.3. This patch focuses primarily on adding stereoscopic 3D rendering. We know it was a favorite feature for many of our players on the previous Tomb Raider and based on your feedback we are bringing this to you now in Lara’s latest adventure.

This patch will be applied by Steam automatically when you next start the game. If your game does not update, please restart the Steam client. If you are using the game on the Window Store, the update will be available in a few days, and will automatically download as it becomes available. We will update this thread when the Windows Store version is live.

Stereoscopic 3D rendering support added.
Supports explicit side-by-side rendering for 3D TVs.
Supports NVIDIA 3DVision or AMD HD3D (On Steam version).
Supports Windows DXGI 1.2 Stereo 3D (On Windows Store version).
Addressed some problems when the display DPI was not set to 100%, including not being able to select all resolutions.
Added some logic to retroactively grant achievements in cases where Steam failed to grant them shortly after release.
A variety of other smaller optimizations, bug-fixes, and tweaks.

While we expect this patch to be an improvement for everyone, if you do have trouble with this patch and prefer to stay on the old version we made a Beta available on Steam, Build 623.2, which can be used to switch back to the previous version.

We will keep monitoring for feedback and will release further patches as it seems required. We always welcome your feedback!

Apparently the devs think the game runs good enough and because it didn't receive the heat that AK did and sold well it doesn't even matter now.

Changing the Denuvo code is first on the list then the game optimization will come later. Very Happy

I'm having too much fun killing of Lara in different ways.

It's better than the previous game... but it's still a dumb game tbh. I don't really take it serious, so I'll mess around in it and finish it once. Bit like a popcorn movie... some mindless fun.

I can say that it runs and looks nice, it has rather daft writing... she still moans too much and her face is uncanny for me: halfway a face of a child and halfway the face of an early twenty year old. Quite disturbing to me.

Thanks Demde! Smile

Does it run any risk of being banned when connected to steam?

Always run the risk while running pirated stuff on your legit account but will they catch you, probably not.

Most advice only running it in offline mode if you want to feel more safe.

DirectX 12 and Nvidia VXAO Smile

Quote:

Added support for DirectX 12
DirectX 12 is a new advanced graphics API that on the right hardware can offer far better performance.
For the best DX12 performance and stability please install the latest drivers for your GPU.
For NVIDIA: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/99512/en-us
For AMD: http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMD_Radeon_Software_Crimson_Edition_16.3.aspx

Adds NVIDIA VXAO Ambient Occlusion technology. This is the world’s most advanced real-time AO solution, specifically developed for NVIDIA Maxwell hardware. (Steam Only)
Added a new benchmark feature to allow easy comparison of performance on different systems, as well as at different graphics settings.
Fixed some HBAO+ and other Ambient Occlusion issues.
Fixed motion blur problems in Stereoscopic 3D mode.
A variety of other smaller optimizations, bug-fixes, and tweaks.

Downloaded the patch and DirectX 12 can be enabled in the launcher, however that VXAO is nowhere to be found.

I'm a little confused by this. Steam Only?
Are they really gonna limit a graphic feature to Steam?
Unless there's a really good reason to do it, I can't say I approve of a practice like this.

What GPU do you have, I'm pretty sure it requires the newest Nvidia GPU architecture for it to show up so it might be limited to 980Ti GPU's if so.

Also D3D12 runs like a slideshow interestingly enough, D3D11 runs fine.

EDIT: Yeah some patch notes have previously mentioned only affecting the Steam version of the game, unsure why.
(App compatibility issue with the Gameworks .dll files and how the Windows Live version works?)
