Well there are two extremes in tarantino movies. We have the adventure type ones like Django, Inglorious Basterds, Kill Bill 1&2 and Pulp Fiction. Then we have his movies where the plot is around the dialogue and mainly focused around some main chars and their interactions at one specific place in time like Reservoir Dogs and Bullet Proof. While I loved Reservoir Dogs, Bullet Proof somehow couldn't capture my attention. Sadly Hateful Eight had the same problem. I wouldn't call it a bad movie though. I definitely didn't enjoy it as much as I did Django (which was just plain awesome), but I wouldn't give it any less than 6/10 either. + I can never get enough of Walton Goggins and Kurt Russel anyway
Just got back from the cinema. Great movie except for the ending. It was just too abrupt. Wasnt as violent as I was expecting either. I heard it was slow and boring but I was entertained throughout.
Spoiler:
I was hoping Jody's gang would show up but it never happened. May have been bullshit anyway.
I had really low expectations due to this thread, so the movie turned out better than expected.
It wa a little long, and Tarantino relies too much on the racism crad but it was pretty fun nonetheless.
6/10
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
im half way through so i will reserve judgement until i have completed it.
its very repetitive so far, x is hangman, x is to be hanged, x is bounty hunter and they seem to go back and forth explaining who each person is to each of the guests in the haberdashery
I am a peasant lol. What are the alternatives for those who are not peasants?
hehe, don't take it too serious. T'was late and I was bored
If Sparks works for you it's fine, I usually just wait a few hours more for the higher quality releases to come out.
I'm never that much in a hurry for a movie so a few hours or even a day or two is no problemos!
I love QT - I'd say he's probably my favourite director.
That said, I started watching this on the plane and was underwhealmed. I know it's a character driven story with little to actually watch, and it wasn't TERRIBLY boring. I just found myself switching over to something a little more... exciting?
