Durante about unlocking internal resolution:
Durante wrote:
After finishing up the article, I wondered how long this would take. The answer is 14 minutes. It seems to be fine from initial testing in all scenarios of the game, including cutscenes, exploration, skits and battles. Videos are broken, would probably require another 15 minutes to fix. No wonder B-N couldn't bother.

GeDoSaTo has been updated with a plugin fixing the resolution issue in this game. Smile
http://blog.metaclassofnil.com/?p=824

Durante also put up a article here:
http://www.pcgamer.com/broken-pc-ports-like-tales-of-symphonia-are-unacceptable/

(I don't think it correctly scales for non-16:9 so my images are probably a bit distorted.)

Wow.
Pretty sad when none of the big issues get fixed. Instead you see what else was wrong with the game. It's obvious the devs not once did some playtesting.
Useless devs are useless.

Also just removed this crap from my wishlist. Can't be bothered supporting them with my money. Not now, not in the future.

Tales.of.Symphonia-ALI213

It's supporting 32 bit right?

I guess that is why it got cracked fast despite being similer protection to Denuvo, further proof why Denuvo will die when 64 bit debugging will be improved.

VMprotect is something like a prototype for Denuvo (or more like the base protection) and it has x86 support, Denuvo is x64 only cause it's harder to crack if they did support x86 it would be long gone.
There is tons of interesting information on Reddit if you are interested in this kind of stuff

Breaks parts of the current TSFix project and the author isn't entirely positive to how some things were implemented but eh it's something and it's nice to see the game being updated outside of requiring third-party utilities. Smile

EDIT: Already fixed it seems.

Kaldaien has tried to fix that too (Even succeeded with Zestiria.) but from what I have read battles are still sped up (2x at 60 and so on.) if you override the framerate cap in this game.

Of course if the developers knew what they were truly doing with that framerate cap issue then well if it can be "hacked" around by a third party then they with full source code and whatnot surely could solve it properly in a patch.
(The game no longer upscales from 720p though so that's at least one technical flaw fixed properly.)

Well, played it for some hours. Till the city gets burned down and you fight some tree grandma.

Really not enjoying the game at all so far sadly.
- The whole storytelling seems rather boring.
- Combat really is strange. You have so few action buttons, but still seems hard for me to understand the system. Which results in me getting hit much more than really needed.
- Cooking seems worthless so far and barely heals.

Will it get much better later on? Or is it safe to quit now for me if i didn't really enjoy it so far?

It gets better as you learn the controls a bit and get new powers / "artes" to use and more of the game unlocks, early on it's pretty slow as you only have a few characters and can't really explore much.

Trying to "100%" the game though well not without a guide or a ton of saving/loading as to avoid missing stuff like skits and the various optional missions and all that.
(Part of the main story can even be done in reverse order or "hard mode" as it's called.)

Not the darkest Tales game either but the story has it's moments even if characters can come across as a bit childish.

(One of the character specific skills is even used to harass or well "flirt" with women for item rewards though said character is a bit messed up for 'reasons' but he's far from the only one heh.)
