this is really sad dear mr starforce, joking on customer's problems. do u really think anyone would waste 2 days and destroy another computer only to show u this ridiculous thing and earn $1000?
this is one of the lamest thing ever and if i was a starforce dev i would just be ashamed to be part of such an idiotic marketin plan.
you should concentrate on something more usefull to you, everyone is playing starforce protected games without buying them, why don't u do something about this.
off topic... go and see worldwide pc games charts the last months, is really hard to find a starforce game selling well... go try it yourself.
two options here: no decent publisher would like to use such a intrusive protection, or customers dediced not to buy games protected with such a intrusive protection. u chose

Thanks Selt CQFD
The best way of selling a game is to make a good game. (not a protection)

I dont really think people care about what kinda protection a game has if they're gonna buy it...from what i've seen on this board, everyone that buys a starforce protected game such as ChaosThoery tent to boastoff real bad about it.
and is it true that people have actually gotten their hardware broken because of SF?..if find that hard to believe.

exactly, i don't know what they are playing at... if you ask me this just means that they ARE aware of a bug that screws up computers and are trying to cover their asses. not everyone is smart enough to know that they can sue in such situations and people might settle for the $1000.
now i'm sorry for the shameless plug here, but take a look: http://www.glop.org/starforce/

Selt: Trackmania Sunrise is not so good, 1 month later it was released Need for Speed Most Wanted, that was good!.
the best starforce game of your list is X3 Reunion, that one is just awesome
one doens't need to fly to Russia, one can just go by car or train

That explains why DeerHunter was one of the best selling games of all time, and System Shock was one of the worst selling games of all time.

Quote: | Oh yes... I understand now...You need to do a bad game to be certain to sell it |
more like 15% design, 40% luck, 45% marketing.
Thus companies have better chance at selling lots of games by invest money into marketing department, rather than the game design team.
So best strategy is make a mediocre game, and spend tons of money on marketing.
