LOL

Is that an actual safe house on the map, or is it hidden?

It's a actual safe house in the second highest-level zone, forgot what the district was called but you can see the safe house name on the first screen there so just zooming out on the map screen and clicking on the safe house(s) should eventually show which one it was.

Developers have a real bad habit of placing encounters, little events and full missions in street crossings that you have to pass on your way to these hideouts so if you're careless you'll aggro all sorts of encounters from low level "rikers" to the tougher "cleaners" and finally the "last man battalion" PMC dudes and those are a real hassle to deal with since I'm barely level 10 and as I said one or two hits and you're dead and it's back to the previous safe house and you'll have to do the run again.
(They're roughly 500m apart from one another so it's not too much of a hassle.)

Thankfully the AI is both blind and deaf so "sneaking" even if not entirely supported is doable by just crouching and staying a little bit away from the armed looking NPC's.
(Until you run straight into a encounter or mission and the fuckers spawn all around you, better be able to run if that happens if the area is a higher level one.)

well that's just a personal preference, not a performance setting. I like the tiny bit of bluriness as extra AA.

I've also checked CPU usage. i5 4670k at 4.6ghz consistent 60-80% usage across all cores, and at times 1 or 2 cores above 90% usage, so no wonder older CPU's can choke.

You consider it great (taking into account syst. req.)? To each his own I guess. Smile I saw games with better graphics that ran better.

Why no reason? I don't think the game performs well all things considered. If you think otherwise, well, it's ur right. And I wouldn't consider it throwing dirt. Very Happy

Interesting to see performance equals to graphics, especially since the drivers arent even proper yet and the game is far away from being unoptimized Laughing Try harder, honestly, many here, even those that really cant do anything with the game still consider the graphics as something that other games havent achieved so far. Unless you ditch the detail of course, but that only gets into your eye while playing

game looks quite amazing in motion at times. and i am happy with the performance, but yes, it could be better at times. cpu usage by the AI is a bit too much and some of the particle/fog effects are too gpu hungry.

gameplay wise, it definitely hurts the game that it can't decide if it's an sp or an MMO. at times you get super immersed in the setting, then you run into an MMO trope, and notice the artificial facade of the open world. it's quite empty, with a few repeating encounters and a lot of walking/fast travel between missions.

It's a bit blurry due to the forced TAA (It has it's benefits too though.) although the post-sharpening effect can mitigate it somewhat, you start pushing view distance and shadows up though and framerate will probably be too low to use downsampling to really clear up the temporal blur effect.

Other than that I like the engine, pretty scalable too and lots of little touches and details in the game plus there's a full day to night cycle (Which is too quick. Razz ) and various weather conditions too.

EDIT: Oh and yeah according to the GeForce.com guide the game attempts to keep VRAM usage at 75% so if you push the graphics to the limits then the streaming system might take a while before textures load into full detail and models use the highest quality LODs, depending on server load too but when traveling to safe zones sometimes the shopkeepers there look like stick figures until they've finished loading into full detail. Razz

Ah that explains it, why with my 970 even on the highest streaming distance settings, it never really went higher than ~3100 MB.
And that also explains it why sometimes objects nearby are still loading the textures for a micro-second. Embarassed

i've seen a few textures on buses load in late, but nothing drastic like idtech 5. can see it in the benchmark as well, when it passes a white van, the graffiti on it loads very late.

Went through some of the older footage for the game, besides various visual "adjustments" I noticed there's some other gameplay elements that have been altered as well.

This for example:
http://www.ag.ru/games/tom-clancys-the-division/screenshots/511130

Supply lines, stats for bases such as morale, contamination and personel.

Wonder how much cut content there is for this game really?
(One district and two islands were also cut from the final game I believe, long island and stanton island and I forgot what the district was.)

I wouldnt call the supply lines cut content, it was heavily changed to a central command base which gets upgraded, instead of smaller ones that you micromanage. You still have all the safehouses, and I think those bases wouldnt have been that much more different anyway.

My only technical issue is with data streaming, apparently a mechanical HDD can't cope fast enough with biggest open areas like Madison Square Park and introduces some stuttering/pop in.

So far I can say that it's mostly SP, MP looks like an optional. Wink
