Actually the gameplay of D:OS is it's strongest suit. The writing is funny at the beginning but starts getting dumb and grating when the game treats EVERYTHING as a joke.

The weakest link of the game is definitely the story and dialogue which were way too one note.

Even Sven acknowledged the problem with the story and D:OS2 is making a concentrated effort in beefing up the writing.

1 and 2 are still amazing.

Probably why they're so happy to get a proper fantasy writer for D: OS 2. Smile

Gameplay is epic. I started a fight and was brutally destroyed without the slightest blink of a chance.
Then, the second time around I adjusted my strategy by figuring out what has to be done differently and then I survived the fight.

This reminds me of Braccus Rex fight, I think it was the most PiTA fight in all game.

I think it depends on your team set up as I found that fight easier than the evelyn (is that her name?) fight, at least on tactician mode. Surprised

I just waited with that, I was a bit in to the story with the miner city before I finished that fight.

+1

My friend and I stopped playing coz of this..The gameplay is fantastic especially how spells works, weather etc. and co-op is great but writing is just terrible...Why did they decide to turn the game into a never ending joke that's not even funny is beyond me...

Yeh Larian makes fine games but they dont take them too seriously. It was the same with Divinity 2. Had to accept it 5 minutes into the game otherwise i would get annoyed over and over through out the game.

@Stige agreed. me and a buddy started this last year and had a great time, but we were too busy and stopped. we just picked up the enhanced edition and started from scratch and we are still having a blast going through the content a second time. cant wait to get passed the part we already played and see the rest. best coop in years imo.

There is a big co-op problem that is consistent in more or less every game of this type and that is that only the person taking the quests is reading the quest text, and the co-op guy fighting somewhere far away knows nothing until he just gets a quest. Is this a issue here as well?

The other guy can click the same NPC and he will see all the same dialogs aswell while player 1 makes all the choices.

You can both see the dialog and both make your own choices. If you disagree with what the other player says, it's resolved with a rock paper scissors game. At least when it's not bugged. I read that they fixed it in the enhanced version

Quote:

Just like in a pen and paper RPG, the party members have opinions on what to do next. With our unique co-op dialog system, there is no party leader. If both heroes are talking to a character, then both participate and will make the final decision together. And if you don't agree, you can settle it with rock paper scissors - just like in real life!

When I checked, nothing under the crate. Then I started a new game and there was indeed a backpack under the crate. When you wear the goggles inside you get a wireframe mode.

I like how the combat is looking though. I like that height matters now and bows and grenades fire in arcs. I loved the first one so I'm sure I'll dig the second as well.

Combat was my favourite aspect of D:OS. One of the best turn based combat systems made in my opinion.

Can't wait to see what they pull off in the sequel.
