Took me almost 2 years to finally see the ending credits that you can't even skip, so you have to wait about 15 minutes to start NG+, but why would you want to do that since the game is complete garbage compared to absolute brilliance that is DS1.
I simply couldn't believe how rushed and unfinished everything looked. The level design was laughably bad and uninspired and most of the bosses were incredibly easy to beat - the final boss was a total joke. I know, B-team and all, but still... WTF?!
The only memorable location was actually Majula with a decent looking skybox that didn't look like a cheap JPEG lazily glued elsewhere in the world and it actually had a little bit of atmosphere that the rest of the game sorely lacked.
They also replaced DS1 heavy running and walking controls with goofy animations that made your character look like he/she is gliding above the ground even when wearing heavy armor. I was hoping I will eventually get used to this, but never actually did... In DS1 you could actually feel and hear the weight of your armor creaking thanks to the amazing sound design and animations.
Too many bonfires, boring gameplay ruined with endless amount of lifegems, instant teleporting = lazy level design, messed up enemy groups and placements (especially before Ruin Sentinels boss fight), most of the enemies/bosses can be beaten with simply circling around them, waiting to get a hit in.
There's just no love and passion in this game, no soul, only darkness.
2/10 for okay graphics and (kind of useless) armor/weapon selection. Other than that, forget about it.

2/10 is very very harsh. DS2 is not as good as DS1 in many aspects, but it also shines in others... like f.e. everything about the absolute brilliant multiplayer aspect of the game, the increased length or the actually quite good 3 dlcs (or alternatively seasonpass), more interesting level up and deep impact of the different covenants...
Did you play the dlc's, if yes, what did you think about them? And were you even playing online?
Btw I guess I'd rate DS1 with 9/10 and DS2 with 8/10. I hope that DS3 takes these good things and adds them to basically what DS1 was, but instead it seems as if DS3 is going to be the bastard child of DS2 and Bloodborne :/

It is worse than the first one sure, but a 2/10 game? Might be exaggerating a bit in there but to each his own.
I sure as hell wouldn't bother ever finishing a 2/10 game, let alone if it was as long as a souls game(15-20+ hours)

It was still a 7-8/10 game compared to DKS 1 which was a 9/10 game .

wonder how would Meseder rate Lords of the Fallen ... minus rating when he gave DS2 a 2?

I was going to uninstall the game right after finishing it, but decided to try out one DLC, Crown of the Old Iron King and surprisingly the difficulty level is exactly what I was looking for - the enemies are relentless and hit hard (those giant Iron Warrriors with large maces are fucking brutal), Brume Tower itself looks impressive and well designed, so if the remaining two DLC are just as good and offer the same challenge, I have to raise the score from 2/10 to 5/10. That would be fair enough...

I`d rate them like this
Demon Souls 10 > DS1 PTD 9.5>Bloodborne 9.0>... many other games..>DS2 SOTFS 7.0
Still a decent game though, just not in the same league

Damn Vikerness, don't remind me of the existence of Demon's Souls and Bloodborne
All jokes aside , perhaps it's because I haven't played them, but for me the package DS2+DLCs was still a great experience, despite the problems, copy-pasta bosses, and a level design that lacked consistency compared to DS1's brilliance.
I also blame all the button awesome stuff out there, a "bad" Dark Souls will always shine when you get reminded of the 'normality' xD

Haha yeah, those metallic blokes are probably the most unforgiving enemy in the game. They're like Terminators, don't have visible weaknesses, and their bashing rate is so high that finding the good "spot" to attack them is bloody hard. The true bosses

3.7 bucks for scholars of sin upgrade in the Kwik-E-Mart.
anyone know if it was cheaper in the past? thinking of grabbing it even though I am not a big fan of rolling simulator 2.

@The_Zeel
Nope It's about things DS2 did better than DS3..For instance, NG+.
And the world is more interesting in DS2..+ some other things.
As for magic..it's getting fixed..slowly

What's so interesting in DS2 word? Extreme linearity? Poor level design with nonsensical transitions? The mobs spread in a hack and slash style? DS2 NG+ wasn't even that better pre patches.
DS3 failed at NG+ and some other aspects, still did a way better job at everything else and it doesn't have a re-release version or any DLCs yet.

Who cares what was pre-patches?
Well. when these DLCs are released I might change my mind.

The lore of DS3 is amazing and extremely twisted, it has some of the cool bosses (lore-wise) in the series. Not the best NPCs, but the bosses...

I was thinking to buy DS2SotFS but then i tought about a few things.. Hackers and invaders and all that kind of stuff
Where i work at there's the game for PS4 for 30€.. On a PC serial key site it costs 10€.
PS4: No hackers and invaders, also platinum trophy.
PC Master Race: <-- but hackers/invaders/trolls
What should i get?...I don't mind both systems but.. Just unsure (Also never finished a DS games coz on the PC version i lost my save coz yaaay NO STEAM CLOUD!!!! ><...But i've finished 100% Bloodborne)
