This game is damned harsh... I hate losing 2000+souls and then dying before getting back to them.

Also, the controls still suck, and I hate the targeting system having such a short range - aiming fireballs is almost impossible to do with any accuracy.

How about you... don't die before reaching your souls? Cool Face And yeah the targeting system changed a bit, shortened range and also it seems to break targeting if you roll too fast or your target moves at a too steep angle?

One thing I noticed right away was that if you move the stick gently forward, the character walks and if you move it a little bit more further, you're suddenly running, so it's exactly like in DS1. In DS2 you couldn't do that, because for some shitty reason some genius decided to fuck it all up - the transition between walking and running was totally different which made the game look and feel very cheap and lazy.

Also, the good old DS1 weight in character's movement is back, no more twitching and gliding around, which is a huge plus.

I actually sighed in relief when I saw that they fixed the movement and made it feel more like DS1 again.

Do u think taking the knight for the first playthough is a good chioce when you are completely new to dark souls games? and what stats are the most important to level at the beginning?

You talking about Reshade or Gedosata?

At least with Reshade you won't get banned. I think there were some reports about short bans in DS2 with it though. But the bans were false alarms and people got unbanned shortly afterwards again.

Not sure about Gedosata though, as that is a bit more agressive with the injection. Very Happy

It is. And not being a beginner to the series I keep choosing pure melee based characters, for me it's the more fun way to play the game.

If you chose Knight I suggest you give priority to Strength, Vitality, Endurance and maybe Vigor.

So I'm reading all over reddit and the steam forums that people with GeForce 400/500/600 series GPUs get pretty bad fps (unplayable) with the latest driver. BUT when they turn back to a fuckin' 2 years old driver (314.22) Laughing they get a HUGE fps improvement. This smells pretty fishy from NVidia's side, and it's shameful.

Knight is the overall best starting class, both for beginners and both in min/max for end-game, there are some analysis already.

Obviously if you wanna some thief/archer roleplay or start with some magic stuff then go for it.

Overall later on you can respec stats so it doesnt really matter, just dont waste your points randomly, read a little bit about it. For beginners hp and stamina is recommended as a base, and then either str or dex, depending on your weapon (and for beginners str based weapons + shield is the best option)

Couldn't it just be, that some features in the old drivers were not implemented back then?
Therewore those really old card get good performance.

I HIGHLY doubt Nvidia is going to do some shitting like that, for a game like this.
It's not an AAA game for them.

and if they want to fuck up customers they would cripple the keppler cards, and not old as fuck shit which nobody uses anymore for gaming. but it works fine on my 770, always 50-60 fps with max details so far

It doesn't actually matter what game it is as doing something like that would be to make people think their cards are worse than they actually are so they go out and buy newer ones.

Not that Dark Souls 3 isn't a ridiculously popular AAA game.

I meant the playerbase that play a game like DS3, are probaly not as many derps that would do that. Compared to for example like Tomb Raider or Quantum Break, that have huge Nvidia intro logos.

Standard practice for nvidia. Same thing happened with TW3.

Well I hope that's the case, because the game runs really poorly on my rig ( i5 2550k & 560Ti ), anywhere from 15 to 40 FPS on average. The difference in graphics between DS2 at max details ( which runs at a smooth 60 fps no matter what's happening on screen ) and DS3 at almost the lowest details doesn't seem to justify the performance hit.
Can't be arsed to downgrade drivers though, so I'll just wait it out Razz

as usual, the shit motion blur takes fps, after disabling it gained around 10 fps but lost some when i put sweetfx grinhurt
